October Covid-19 Updates 
Working Families Tax Credit
The Washington State Department of Revenue (DOR) is holding community listening sessions concerning the state Working Families Tax Credit this week.

The WFTC is an additional amount to the Federal Child Tax Credits, which provide up to $300 per month per child under the age of 6, and up to $250 per month per child for ages 6 to 17. 

People can receive payments of up to $300 per child every month starting in July 2021 through December 2021. You will need to file a tax return in 2022 to receive the rest of the payment.

The deadline to register for these listening sessions is November 15. Registration is available in both English and Spanish.

2021 People of Color Legislative Summit

What: 2021 People of Color Legislative Summit
Who: Organizational and/or self-identified community leaders of color 
When: December 4th at 10:00-1:00pm
Where: Zoom (more details and registration link to come) 

The summit has 2 main goals:
  1. To stimulate dialogue between diverse POC organizations, community leaders, and state legislators of color to build statewide solidarity and mobilizing capacity on the most important issues to our collective communities of color.
  2. To organize a platform for community leaders of color to develop and push forward our communities’ legislative priorities with the bicameral Black Members Caucus (BMC) and the House and Senate Members of Color Caucuses (MOCC’s).
