We have revised the first paragraph in the ONCA bulletin, below. Please use this revised bulletin.

ONCA Update

The technical amendments bill relating to Ontario’s Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010 (ONCA) is expected to be introduced in the Ontario legislature in the next few months. The bill may affect the way the ONCA is implemented, so you may want to delay making changes to comply with the ONCA until the bill has been passed.  For the latest information on the timing of the ONCA, please check the Ontario Government website at

Meanwhile, you can use CLEO's tools to learn about and Get Ready for the ONCA.

ONCA Basics Webinar

Looking for an introduction to the ONCA for your networks or member organizations?  We can provide a free speaker for your 30 to 60 minute webinar or tele-meeting if you expect a minimum of 30 registrants.

The presentation will be an updated version of our archived webinar, New Rules for Ontario Nonprofits - ONCA Basics, and can include a question and answer session.  Email brenda.doner@cleo.on.ca for more information, stating the dates you have in mind.

Student Legal Help Service

CLEO is planning a legal help service to start in the fall of 2015. Nonprofits with questions about the ONCA will be able to receive answers from law students, supervised by experienced charity lawyers.  We are looking for a range of nonprofits to be part of a testing stage in the spring of 2015.
Participating in the testing stage, between April and June, would take about 3 to 4 hours of your time and could result in early assistance for your organization.  If you are interested in participating, email brenda.doner@cleo.on.ca, by February 20th.
