Student Legal Help Service

CLEO is planning a legal help service to start in the fall of 2015. Nonprofits that have questions about the ONCA will be able to receive answers from law students, supervised by experienced charity lawyers.

We are looking for more organizations to participate in testing this service in May, 2015.  We especially want any of the following:
  • organizations in remote areas
  • volunteer-led organizations with no staff
  • organizations with vulnerable people as voting members
  • organizations that already have basic knowledge of the ONCA (for example, have already participated in CLEO’s webinar ONCA Basics).
Participation would involve no more than three to four hours of your time and your organization could benefit from this early help. If you are interested in participating, email brenda.doner@cleo.on.ca.

ONCA Update

We are still waiting for the technical amendments bill related to the ONCA to be introduced. For the latest information on the timing of the ONCA, please check the Ontario Government website.

Meanwhile, you can use CLEO’s tools to learn about the ONCA and Get Ready for the ONCA.
