Employee News and Appointments

EPL is pleased to announce that Dr. Kathleen Funk has been named EPL’s Chief Operating Officer and Dr. Jeffrey Wolf has been named EPL’s Chief Scientific Officer, effective June 1, 2014. 

Dr. Funk is a graduate of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and also holds a PhD in Comparative Pathology from the University of California at Davis.  She was certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 1992; Dr. Funk joined EPL in 1998. Her area of expertise includes the evaluation of tissue reaction to biomedical devices, especially cardiovascular devices such as stents and grafts, in a variety of species.

Dr. Wolf is a graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.  He received his anatomic pathology training during residencies at the University of Florida and Virginia Tech.  He was certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 1997; Dr. Wolf joined EPL in 2000.  His areas of expertise are toxicologic pathology of aquatic animals, alternative animal models, endocrine disruption studies that utilize various species of fish and frogs, image analysis, and stereology.

The Society of Toxicologic Pathology's 33rd Annual Symposium will focus on translational science and the relevance of toxicologic pathology to human health.

EPL is pleased to announce that our veterinary pathology staff will once again be associated with multiple presentations and scientific posters  at this year's Society of Toxicologic Pathology (STP) Annual Symposium.
Dr. Arun R. Pandiri, BVSc&AH, MS, PhD, DACVP, DABT, a veterinary pathologist at EPL, has been selected to receive the first Society of Toxicologic Pathology (STP) Distinguished Early Career Award, which is to be presented at the Annual Meeting in Washington, DC on Wednesday, June 25, 2014.
