ATTENTION: Nonprofits with Fewer than 20 Employees
Act Fast – Now Is the Best Time to Apply for a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loan

For a two-week period, the Small Business Administration and Paycheck Protection Program lenders will process loan applications ONLY from nonprofits and for-profit businesses with fewer than 20 employees.
Starting Wednesday, February 24 and running through Tuesday, March 9, the exclusive small-employer PPP processing window is
designed to provide more equitable relief by “targeting the PPP to the smallest businesses and those that have been left behind in previous relief efforts” to ensure that lenders give smaller employers the attention they need to work their way through the application process.
If you think your nonprofit may be eligible for an initial PPP loan or a second draw loan Congress authorized at the end of 2020, now is the best time to contact a lender and find out how much relief may be available.

From Talk to Action: Policymaking at the Margins - Registration OPEN!
Tuesday, March 23 | 9:00 – 11:30 AM | Zoom

Michigan Nonprofit Association is hosting “From Talk to Action: Policymaking at the Margins” on Tuesday, March 23 from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The Detroit Equity Action Lab (DEAL) will lead a discussion about policy change through a racial equity lens. The morning program will consist of a keynote address introducing concepts followed by facilitated breakout exercises. In the afternoon, we will meet with legislators via Zoom.

This year MNA is implementing a "pay what you can" policy. The suggested fee is $30.00 and includes the morning session and the opportunity to join MNA staff in 2-3 legislative meetings in the afternoon. If $30.00 is cost-prohibitive, you can pay what you can afford. If you can pay a little bit more, that's great and it means you're helping pay for somebody else. Due to the number of breakout sessions following the keynote address, space is limited so act now.

Nonprofit Leadership Census

Michigan Nonprofit Association in partnership with Data Driven Detroit with support from the Knight Foundation and the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy is excited to announce the release of the first-ever Nonprofit Leadership Census survey aimed at building a solidarity network among BIPOC-led nonprofits (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) in the city of Detroit.

The survey is open to all nonprofits in Detroit and is intended to generate the first comprehensive, diverse data set about nonprofit leadership in the city. Amid a global racial reckoning, the effect of such a collaboration in communities of color and Indigenous communities could be transformative.
