Greetings Dear Brothers and Sisters!

We returned to California, having circumnavigated the Globe. Too bad most of it took place at night! Though we can see the world slip by from above during a Shamanic Journey, it would have been cool to have seen it in Ordinary Reality!

Thank you to all the wonderful emails we've received about the new layout and content!

We're putting together new content and holding workshops here in California and beyond.

Also, there is growing interest in us putting together a weekend Psychopomp workshop. Paul has put together a simple survey to ask when and where for our dear friends and students in India. Please let us know! Here is the link:

Enjoy dear ones!

Food for Thought: Ground Hogs Day--The Movie
A film came out in 1993 called Ground Hogs Day. For those not familiar with the event that the film is named after, on Feb. 2 of every year, a sleeping ground hog (a very large mammal of the squirrel family) is pulled from is burrow. Legend states that if the Ground Hog sees its shadow, then winter weather will persist for six more weeks. If no shadow, then spring will arrive early.

Back to the movie...

In this film, our hero is an arrogant Pittsburgh TV weatherman who, during an assignment covering the annual Groundhog Day event, finds himself in a time loop, repeating the same day again and again. After indulging in hedonism and numerous suicide attempts, he begins to re-examine his life and priorities.

So all of this leads me to some Food for Thought....
  • What would you do if you were stuck in a time loop?
  • Would it be serious or fun?
  • How many times would you "do the loop?"
  • How long until you got bored?
  • How long would it take until you absorb the lesson? What is the lesson?
  • If you were to re-examine your Life, what would happen?
  • How would your priorities change?
  • How would you feel if someone pulled you out of your nice warm burrow, held you up in the air and clapped as you either squinted at the sun or wriggled upon high, freezing your tail off?
  • If you came with an UNDO button, how often would you push it? When? Why?
  • How would your time loop end?
Happy Nibbles!
Power Animal of the Month: Groundhog!

How can it not be Groundhog?!

Groundhog Medicine is all about:
  • Altered Consciousness
  • Sense of Family and Community
  • Connection to seasonal changes
  • Understands the power of cycles
  • Ability to hibernate (sleep) during hard times
  • Protection from floods
  • Ability to go underground when trouble arises
  • Mystery of Death without Dying
  • Trance
  • Dreams
  • Hibernation
  • Grounding
  • Rebirth
Groundhog is the symbol of opening fully to the dreamtime, of exploring altered states of consciousness more deeply and fully. Groundhog Medicine brings us Dreams that have great significance.

In addition. lessons associated with death, dying and revelations about its processes will begin to surface. Groundhog can teach its people metabolic control. Groundhog also teaches us how to go into the great unconscious without harm.

People with a Groundhog totem need to have definite boundaries in their life and let those around them know those boundaries.

And of course, Groundhog’s power is strongest in Winter.

From the Storyteller

The Groundhog has a relationship with its Shadow. If it is not seen, then Spring comes quickly. If it is seen, the Winter drags on.

If we see our Shadow, what happens? Are we like our Brother The Groundhog...if we see Our Shadow, does Spring come quickly? How do you view Spring?

Yet, if we do not see our Shadow, do we linger with the cold and frost...and Death of Winter?

If we don't see our Shadow, is it because it's hibernating? Or is it because of you self-imposed blindness? Or perhaps, the Shadow already wraps its self so snugly over us?

Look into the fire before the shadows cast upon the walls of this circle...these shadows move with us...they follow us, ready to dance and sing and hear and tell their stories...for they too are filled with Life and their own Light and...Magic!

Watch your Shadow as it walks with you in the Sun. Watch it grow as the Sun turns to it follow the arc of the Father..and how if follows the arc of your Life.

Have you noticed how your Shadow follows you?

Watch as the Shadow touches your feet as you Walk in Beauty...when was the last time you listened the Heartbeat of your Shadow?

I always love the days of the long Shadow...with the Sun at my back...when I chase the Shadow that calls out towards the East, into the direction that which is New.

In those moments, there is the fleeting thought of "who leads who" as we dance together....

Embrace your Shadow! Learn from it! Speak to it! Listen to It!

For it is you and you are it. Do not squirm when the Light hits the Shadow. Instead, look at that which can not be revealed and journey onward!
