Three tips to stay healthy and vibrant this Autumn

1.  Eat the beautiful colors of the Autumn season
The Fall months bring a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors and a plethora of delicious and nutritious foods to help us nurture our bodies.  Think of all of the healthy foods that are rich in the deep yellows, orange and greens of the earth!  Indulge in the colorful harvest of winter squash, fresh pumpkins, sweet potatoes, turnips, parsnips, apples, pears, and cranberries!  These seasonal foods bring a wonderful boost of nutrition for your health and immunity. 

2.  Keep moving
As the warmer days of Summer are replaced with the cooler, brisk days of Autumn, we tend to retreat to the warmth and comfort of our homes.  Don’t let the cooler temperatures keep you from moving your body.  Both movement and deep breathing help to stimulate the body’s lymphatic system, which aids in the removal of toxins and cellular waste from the body, boosting immunity.  Making movement and exercise, such as yoga, dancing, running, or swimming, a priority each day will help you to stay healthy and strong during the colder months ahead

3.  Align with the season
As the days become shorter and the dark nights longer, give yourself permission to make changes in your lifestyle that align with the season.  Autumn is the perfect time to slow down and enjoy some internal reflection.  It is a season to look after yourself, reconnect with loved ones and renew your spirit.  Dedicate time to home projects or getting organized.  Enjoy warm baths, reading, meditation, or cooking, and take advantage of the early nights to get more rest and nurture your body.
