Celebrating January in FOCUS!
Following our Zoom Virtual Board Meeting, which went surprisingly well, considering we weren't meeting in person, Bay and I headed to Arizona. Being as it had been months since we'd traveled outside of Colorado, we felt like we were on a real adventure (thank you, COVID quarantine)!
Of course, we drove south for ministry - our first "in person" speaking in many, many months!! While there, we definitely carved out a little time to visit with Tim, Mandy (our youngest) and the kids in Casa Grande. We enjoyed catching up with all of them, playing games, and getting in a little hike on Casa Grande Mountain (see picture above). Being with family, no matter how little the time, does our hearts good, BUT, I will say that being in church, and hearing Bay's passionate preaching and heart for evangelism SHINE, was EXTRAORDINARY! I didn't realize how much I have missed getting to participate with him in ministry, and how much I have also missed getting to share with women (there was no women's events this trip, but we are hopeful those are opening back up soon, too).
Bay spoke in two churches during our Arizona stay, both in the greater Tucson area. The first church he spoke at was at Hope Community Church in Oro Valley. His message on "Identity Theft" is a much needed theme in any church, and well received. A fun surprise for us, besides being in church with long-time friends (since college) Wayne and Cindy Harrison, was re-connecting with our Stephanie's college roommate, Allie, whose husband was the worship pastor! The Jesus-following-world is really getting smaller.
