🍁🍂🌻 Welcome, September... 🍁🍂🌻

...But, if you don't mind, we'll hang onto summer a little longer!  If you remember, in our last email we'd just returned home after some diverse ministry in upstate New York and New Hampshire. Here's how we rounded out August:
Peg -
Spent a week in Sierra Vista, AZ with the grands, while their mama and daddy took an anniversary trip back to beautiful Hawaii, where they were stationed with the Army several years ago. The way the military sends our little Forrest family somewhere new every few years, time with the kids is most precious. Mostly, besides fixing meals, I was simply "entertainment-nana." It's a tough job, but someone has to do it.

At the end of my week at Ft. Huachuca, I headed up to Tucson, where I spoke at a women's "camp" for Hope Community Church. They audaciously chose "Pride vs.. Humility" as their theme, and so I focused my speaking on Moses, whom the Lord declared was the humblest man on the surface of the earth (Num 12:3). What a dangerous topic...it's like praying for patience...you can only learn "humility" by experiencing how easy it is for pride to rise up and try to take over.

Adam & Cher's 5 (left to right); Adam Bayard, Jr; Titus Nelson (who just turned 17 while I was with the kids); Kelvie Jack; Addilyn Grace; and Brynley Joy. Bryn and I found all kinds of fun projects to do: swimming, painting, making a fairy garden, playing at the playground, hiking, and, going to the movies...she even thought she might like to crochet, but that proved a bit too tedious.

Bay -
While Peg was away, Bay brought in a couple of guys (involved in different ministries) in need of "get aways." They enjoyed doing a variety of guy-things, including "Ranger-ing," Axe-throwing, target shooting, horseback riding, and simply sitting and having long Jesus-talks (the best kind!).
Ron (left) and Dave (right) on our new TN Walker, Sundance. Isn't he a beauty?! And gentle as can be... Nothing more peaceful and "grounding-in-the-Lord" than being on horseback in His creation!
Pastor Ron's stay overlapped a Sunday. Our friend, Pastor Rudy invited him to preach at New Life Fellowship in Dulce, NM, where we help out from time to time. Ron brought a timely and much needed message to our Jicarilla friends.
View from our patio that guests use for just sitting with the Lord during their "get aways...." Also, a peaceful place to just sit and listen to the the Lord's still, small voice. Pastor Ron loved the patio so much, he was headed home to build one for his house! Smile.
With much love and appreciation from us to you...

Bay and Peg
