  • Sponsored by the EWMBA VPs of Academics, we will discuss electives for career planning, invite several faculty members to provide an "elevator pitch" for their class, and answer any elective or bidding questions that students may have.

  • Review the Bidding Process Overview.
  • Review your top choice(s).
  • Ensure class meeting dates do not conflict (refer to Spring 2021 Academic Calendar on the home page, and also pay close attention to the Sunday 1 Unit dates).
  • Plan out your bids! Bid on classes in OLR.
    • Round 1 starts Monday Oct 26 at 12 noon, and ends Friday Oct 30 at 12 noon.
    • Reminder: It does not matter when you bid in Round 1, just that you remember to bid!
  • Round 2 dates on the Registration Timeline.

2020 Diversity Symposium Volunteers Needed
Friday Oct 23-Sunday Oct 25
  • The EWMBAA VPs of Diversity Francesca Delaney, Mali Llerena, and Nuhamin Woldemariam are seeking student volunteers for the annual MBA for Working Professionals Diversity Symposium. If you would like to volunteer, review the different opportunities and sign up here.
  • The symposium is designed specifically for prospective students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds in business school (in particular, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American, women, Vets, and LGBTQ+ communities). 
2021 EWMBAA Executive Team Elections 
  • Elections are held for the positions of President, Executive Vice President, EVP Marketing & EVP Finance (all other VP roles are selected by the new team in early 2021).
  • Submit candidacy materials to ewmba_office@haas.berkeley.edu by Sunday Nov 1 by 11:59PM.
  • There will be a campaigning period and voting will run Nov 10-14.
  • You may run as a team, but each position is elected separately.

1st Annual Haasween Costume Contest

  • The EWMBAA is proud to announce the 1st Annual Haasween Costume Contest!
  • 1st round: Submit entries to 2021 (#Haasween2021), 2022 (#Haasween2022), and 2023 (#Haasween2023) official channels 
  • How to vote:
    • Vote with the pumpkin emoji in the official slack thread for your favorite costume. The top three vote winners in each year will advance forward to the final overall thread. Only votes with the pumpkin emoji will be counted!

  • Prizes: $25 per year for top 3 in each year.
  • Cohort Prize: The cohort in each year with the highest participation in the first round (Entries in official Haasween slack channel / Cohort Size as of the start of the Fall Semester) will win a $5 doordash gift card for everyone who posts an entry
Contest Rules:
  • You must put the name of your cohort on your entry in the channel for it to count.
  • Pets, babies, and any other props are allowed but the student must be in the photo.
  • Please remember the Defining Leadership Principles and be appropriate (don’t post anything that would make Oski the Golden Bear blush).
Final Haasween Costume Contest

  • Final Round competition will take place in the official thread in #HaasweenAllYears
  • How to vote:
    • Vote with the pumpkin emoji in the official slack thread for your favorite costume. The top three vote winners overall will win the below prizes and bragging rights. 
    • Prizes: $25 per year for top 3 in each year (3 total prizes)
      • 1st Place Overall: $125

  • Chian studied bioengineering at UC Berkeley and worked in management consulting upon graduation. After completing a fellowship through Education Pioneers, she decided to dedicate her career to education. She has since worked in education consulting and impact investing and is now working alongside a team of educators and entrepreneurs at Reach Capital.

  • Please join us for an online networking experience with UCLA Anderson's FEMBA program. This will provide a great opportunity to meet students from a fellow UC program and to broaden our personal and professional networks.
  • The mixer will start off with two rounds of speed networking followed by open breakout rooms organized by the following industries, if not more: tech, consulting, entrepreneurship, finance, and healthcare.

  • Come to this month’s CMG Resources Chat where we will spend 15 minutes showing you the CMG online resources related to Exploration (e.g. resources to help you discover your strengths, interests, and values, and resources for exploring various industries and job functions), plus 15-30 minutes Q&A (depending on how many questions you have!).
  • We will also give you a few new tips on getting the most out of CMG BEARS.

  • This workshop is going to walk you through how a recruiter or hiring manager might evaluate a resume, and along the way highlight how you might alter your resume to help them help you. We will look at resumes together and evaluate them through this process and understand how to stack the odds in your favor - just to be clear, there is no magic bullet.


Values in Action ("VIA") Assessment

  • In this workshop, we will be going over the report for your Values In Action assessment ("VIA"). We are providing free of charge for you - make sure to use your @berkeley email to register.
  • This survey measures your top character strengths and values - essentially who you are at your best. It's scientifically based and was developed by researchers at the University of Pennsylvania and University of Michigan
  • Research reveals that people who recognize and use their top strengths every day are 3x more likely to report having an excellent quality of life and 6x more likely to be engaged at work.
  • Knowing your VIA character strengths can help you find values-based language to include in your stories. Click here for examples of VIA Stories.
  • Note: In order for you to participate in this workshop, it is mandatory that you take the Values In Action assessment ("VIA"), no later than 24hrs prior to the workshop.
