Berkeley Haas Latinx Heritage Month Virtual Event

  • The Berkeley Haas Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office invites you to a virtual event to celebrate Latinx Heritage Month!
  • This event is open to all Berkeley Haas staff, students, faculty and alumni who identify as Latinx. We will have a semi-formal program as well as a DJ, so log on to connect with new and old colleagues, and have a good time while doing it.

Dean’s Speaker Series with Shantanu Narayen, MBA 93

  • They will cover a range of topics including leadership lessons learned throughout his successful career; how he has adapted his leadership style during the pandemic; and the challenge of maintaining a remote corporate culture in an organization with more than 22,000 employees around the world.
  • As Chairman, President & CEO of Adobe, Shantanu has Questioned the Status Quo while building a culture of innovation, expanding into new markets, and extending Adobe’s product portfolio and global reach.

Berkeley Haas Culture Fund Proposals Due Oct 5
  • Did you know? As a Culture Fund recipient, the One Haas Podcast has been able to expand and continue to share Haas stories. Have an idea for another way to bring the Haas community together?
  • A group of deep supporters of our school donated over $200,000 for keeping our Defining Leader Principles (DLPs) strong. This Berkeley Haas Culture Fund will make 10-15 grants in the fall of $5,000 each to support new activities and initiatives that are directly linked to our four principles and have the potential for long-term impact on our school’s learning, experiences, or practices.
    • The mission statement provides a more complete overview of the Berkeley Haas Culture Fund.

International Business Development (IBD) Announcements
  • If you didn't have the chance to join us for the virtual IBD Conference on Sep11, check out the recording of the 2020 IBD Client Panel Discussions.
  • IBD is an international client based consulting course. To learn more about IBD for Spring 2021, there will be a webinar on Wednesday Oct 7 at 12 noon.
    • This virtual information session will be recorded, and the video will be emailed after the event.
    • Please note that the Spring 2021 IBD Course is only for 3rd year EWMBA students. 
Correct App Deadline for Healthcare Services Innovation: Case Competition
Application Deadline Oct 9, Case Competition Nov 14
  • Correction to the application deadline: the deadline is Oct 9, not Oct 12 as noted in the email.
  • Registration is now open for the Yale Healthcare Services Innovation: Case Competition.
    • ModernMD is a leading urgent care organization in New York, NY, with seven locations across Brooklyn and Queens. Over the past five years of operation, ModernMD has experienced significant growth, as well as recent shifts in care and services due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This case competition will tackle important strategic questions for the company moving forward, and will serve as a major priority to ModernMD’s executive leadership.

Graduate Certificate in Applied Data Science
  • The School of Information is now accepting applications for the Graduate Certificate in Applied Data Science for graduate students. 
  • All applications for Fall 2020 are due Oct 1. If you are graduating in Fall 2020, you must apply by Octr 1 to be considered. Applications will close after this date. The next opportunity for students to apply will be during the Spring 2021 semester.
  • Students can apply to the certificate either before, during, or after they've completed the required coursework. Review all the application and certificate requirements carefully here.
  • EW students may apply up to 5 units of Non-Haas coursework to your graduation requirement.

Haas Branded Patagonia Apparel Available
  • Purchase Haas branded Patagonia jackets or vests here by Wednesday Sep 30, as the vendor will begin to work on the requests starting Oct 1.

EGAL Anti-Racism Commitments Project
  • As Dr. Kellie McElhaney, the Founding Director for the Berkeley Haas Center for Equity, Gender, and Leadership (EGAL) maintains, we want to be leaders working towards a new normal that is more equitable.
  • EGAL invites everyone in the Haas community to submit 1-2 personal anti-racism commitments that will then be displayed in a virtual whiteboard on their website. They are also offering to match folks with an "accountability buddy" with similar commitments. 
  • They encourage all of you to take this first step and submit your commitments using this short form by Friday Oct 2 at 5PM.

  • Therefore, official grade letters may not be available until after that date.
  • If your employer requires a grade report, see a list of options here.
