Iron Man - Road Closure Notice

Iron Man 70.3 Cairns is scheduled for Sunday 12 June 2022. There will be road closures within Douglas Shire during this event.

Back On Track Performing at Mossman 

A free showing of Dare to Dream: Back on Track by the Jute Theatre will take place at Mossman State High School, Indoor Sports Centre on May 26 at 6pm. 

This free performance is open to all public and no bookings are required.

Sports masterplan grabs funding for new pavilion

Mayor Michael Kerr joined Coral Coast Judo Club and Warren Entch MP for the announcement of a $1.7m commitment to redevelop Victor Crees Pavilion at Coronation Park this week.

First Nations Tourism Action Plan Workshop

Consultations will take place in a series of face-to-face workshops, meetings, online surveys and through the regular meetings of the TNQ Experiences Cluster.
Tourism Tropical North Queensland and the First Nations Action Plan steering committee will conduct workshops in Port Douglas on Friday 27 May 2022

  • New sewage pump station switchboards are being replaced in port Douglas due to ageing. See below the new switchboard installed at St Crispins Ave. 
  • Construction crew completed drainage works along Garrick Street as part of the 21/22 Capital Works Prainage Program
  • Maintenance grading has begun in the south side of the shire and will progress north.
  • Mossman, Beaches and Cemetery crew joined forces to clean up Cooya Beach foreshore area.
