 ANNUAL MEETING: thank-yous and good news
Our Annual Meeting was a successful and productive meeting, and the weather cooperated, too!  Thanks to Board Member Beth Coop for all her planning and local donations, to Gunnison Farmers Market for underwriting the facility fee, and to Rocky Mountain Farmers Union for its sponsorships.

Those arriving Friday afternoon enjoyed touring campus greenhouse and gardens, and a local ranch.  

Saturday was a very full day, opening with our annual business meeting.  Highlights include:
~ Selection of our new logo as featured above. We ask all of our members, sponsors, partners, and friends to add our logo to your website and promotional materials.  Easy Logo download HERE for both print and website.

~ Vote for New Board Members resulted in re-election of Martha Sullins and two new members: John Ellis, a founding member of CFMA and farmer bringing great experience and perspective, and Juliana Trujillo Escobar, who is a chef and with her husband, Juan, are new Vendor Members. SNAP/EBT Training
  • Work with the Farmers’ Market Coalition or the CO EBT coordinator to get free EBT equipment and service.
  • Forge community connections by having AmeriCorps Vistas work the markets (and behind the scene). Sponsor a volunteer!
  •  NEW MEMBER BENEFIT!  25% discount on software for current CFMA members. At our Annual Meeting, two Front Range Market managers reported real satisfaction, savings of time and resources, and great access to customer service using this software. Contact Manage My Market for details.  

 ANNUAL MEETING - evaluations
We are digesting the nitty-gritty of the evaluations and taking to heart how better to improve the one-time-per-year that we get some face time together.  Here are the final overall comments to share:

"I really enjoyed the discussion and the speakers. I was surprised how informative the meeting was and how interesting all the speakers were. Would have liked more time to discuss the software program."

"Lovely place for the conference. Enjoyed the tours very much, and speaking with other managers is great - always make good contacts and gain useful info. Thank you so much to the Board for doing such a great job. I'm sure the new Board members will be a great help. Would like to see more group advocation and grant-writing - groups have such an advantage in this area.

"I found the meeting to be very informative - was the 1st annual meeting that I've attended. I'm glad to see that CFMA has a paid (although well below what she's worth) staff. I've seen several volunteer organizations fall apart when their volunteer leader burns out or steps down. I hope we are able to continue this position and increase the pay so that she stays!"

"I think it was an amazing conference. Pack full of a lot of valuable information. The only drawback for me and my husband personally was we could not get away soon enough to be able to enjoy the tours. Maybe adding another day would be helpful so more could enjoy the tours/the entire conference. Kudos to everybody it was an amazing wonderful enjoyable and believe it or not beautiful ride and relaxing experience… Along with all the education we all received of course.Thank you, thank you, thank you."
