SNAP Authorization for Direct Markets
MONDAY, JUNE 20, 9am-5pm

ATTENTION: Interested farmers, farmers markets, CSAs, and produce stands.
LiveWell Colorado and CFMA  invite you to work one-on-one with USDA staff to apply for SNAP authorization for your market. USDA staff will be on hand all day to help fill out your application, which will take approximately 30 mins. (Please bring a book or work to do in the event you have to wait for staff to be available.) They will also be presenting on the basics of SNAP and EBT technology at 10 am, 12 pm, 2 pm and 4 pm.  

In order to complete your application, you must bring the following items to the event:
  1. ID (driver’s license, government photo ID)
  2. 501c3 or similar document that shows federal non-profit status
  3. Social Security card unless non-profit, then only employer identification number is required
  4. Employer identification number (EIN), only if you have one/are non-profit
  5. Business license, only if you have one
  6. W9, not for the authorization but required if you want to receive free equipment through the Farmers Market Coalition

Driving Directions: The Adams County Regional Park is located one mile west of U.S. 85 on 124th Avenue (124th turns into Henderson Road when it crosses the South Platte River).  Follow this link for a Google map with directions.
From Denver - Take I-25 North to I-76. Take I-76 to U.S. 85 and take U.S. 85 North to 124th. Turn west on 124th and go one mile to the entrance of the park. The museum entry is to the west of the Regional Park entry.
From Ft. Collins - Take I-25 South to Highway 7, take Highway 7 East to U.S. 85 in Brighton. Take U.S. 85 South to 124th. Turn west on 124th and go one mile to the entrance of the park.

Cottage Food Act Training 

 
CSU Extension is hosting training workshops throughout the state that cover Colorado Cottage Food Act topics and help you safely operate a food business from your home kitchen.
Come learn:
  • Basic food safety for Tier 1 foods, including proper hygiene; preventing cross contamination & cross contact of food allergens; temperature control for safe food preparation storage, transport & sales;
  • Foods permissible in Colorado’s Cottage Food Act;
  • Ingredient labeling & disclaimer requirements;
  • Special considerations for food preparation at altitude; and
  • Great resources and contact information.
