NAS Secondary School Swim Squad
ROCK their first League Gala!

With only a few short weeks to prepare for the first league gala of the season, which was to be hosted at home at the fantastic NAS pool, everyone had been working very hard to ensure the event ran as smoothly as possible and the swim squad, team and coaches have been super busy preparing for the big day!

After a few sleepless nights a mixture of nerves and excitement coursed through the NAS camp in the morning as last minute preparations were taking place. Once the teams started to arrive things really began heating up and the atmosphere at the pool came alive and everything just fell into place perfectly.

The NAS swimmers certainly brought their A game and showed us all how hard work and dedication can pay off by taking an early lead with each and every swimmer giving it their all in the water.

The sportsmanship between schools was wonderful to watch with all swimmers being incredibly supportive of each other and the team spirit from everyone was just contagious with parents and teachers showing up to join in and support their teams.  The whole place was buzzing with excitement!

All five teams did amazingly well and every school had some outstanding performances but the NAS team seemed to grow stronger and stronger building on their early lead and eventually winning by a huge 57 points, bagging a total of 24 out of 49 1st places!  Awesome!!

A huge well done to everyone involved and a great start to what we hope will be a wonderful season!  Keep up the good work NAS Swimmers, you ROCK!!

NAS Dubai U8 Football Victory!

The U8 team kicked off their first match of the season with a 10-1 victory over Safa Community School. It was an excellent team performance with some stand-out individual moments. Daniel Williams scored arguably the goal of the game with a 15 yard lob within the first couple of minutes. He went on to add two more to his name, earning himself a hat-trick and a man of the match performance. His tally was only bettered by Clovis Duvel, who was rewarded for his energy and determination with four powerful finishes. In the second half of the game, Paul Houman curled a well-placed shot into the top corner of the goal and this was followed by a timely brace from Ahmed Ayyad. The defence fought resiliently throughout and the whole team performed brilliantly. Well done Year 3!

Día de la Hispanidad
(Columbus Day)

A fabulous day during which we celebrated and shared where Spanish is spoken around the world!

It started with tantalizing food from various Spanish speaking countries in our Chatter Box Cafe… the chocolate treats were a huge success! For lunch our Secondary Spanish students immersed themselves in the Spanish culture by visiting Seville’s restaurant in Wafi. The children put their Spanish into practice by ordering their food, tasting eight tapas dishes whilst listen to an amazing Spanish guitarist. The trip was a huge success and many new tasting experiences were encouraged, resulting in a new found love of tapas!
In the afternoon our wonderful Spanish mums invited students and parents to a sing-a-long in the IB room, a really uplifting way to end such a great day.

House Competition
Monday the 12th of September saw the first House competition at NAS Dubai for the year, with students from Nursery up to year 10 all coming together to complete the intergalactic challenge. Everybody was involved, with almost 200 teams across the school using their creative abilities to decide what items should be sent to the moon and preserved for the future, presenting their ideas both as a poster and as a 1 minute movie. Each team consisted of a mixture of children from Primary and Secondary who worked extremely well together, reinforcing the great NAS Dubai school spirit.
