MAY 2016 UPDATE:
JLens connects the Jewish community to the influential responsible investing arena. We were recently accepted into the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI), a powerful coalition of 1,500 signatories from over 50 countries, representing $60 Trillion in assets.
Among the signatories are pension funds, college endowments (ex. University of California, Harvard), Wall Street institutions (ex. Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, BlackRock), and many faith-based investor groups.
JLens is the only UNPRI signatory that represents the Jewish community.
Supported by the United Nations, the UNPRI defines expectations for institutional investors and multinational companies on responsible behavior. It is vital for the Jewish community to have a voice and representation in this important global advocacy arena.
Through our consulting for Jewish institutional investors, and our launch of the first Jewish values-based responsible investment strategy, JLens adheres to the UNPRI’s six principles (with a uniquely Jewish lens):
- Incorporate ESG (environment, social, governance) issues into our investment analysis and decision-making processes.
- Be active owners and incorporate ESG issues into our ownership policies and practices.
- Seek appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by the entities in which we invest.
- Promote acceptance and implementation of the principles within the investment industry.
- Work together to enhance our effectiveness in implementing the principles.
- Report on our activities and progress towards implementing the principles.
The JLens team looks forward to providing the Jewish community with long-overdue representation as investors in the UNPRI.
