The Mashup

Are We Creating Paedophiles In The Adventist Church?

Ingredients.

1. One young lonely male visitor (LMV). (Females can't be paedophiles)
2. One ten year old child. Female one works best.
3. One Adventist church congregation.
4. One pastor who does all the church’s dirty work for them.

Method.
Have young lonely male visitor go to said church. Ensure that the whole congregation ignores visitor.

Wait for the ten year old child to notice visitor. Watch as she goes and makes friends with him.

Immediately get very suspicious when he responds in a friendly manner. Start spreading the word that there is a potential paedophile in the congregation.

Refuse to have any conversation with LMV on the grounds that doing so will spoil the impending narrative.

Conveniently ignore the fact that so far your behaviour is already going against scripture (Matt 18).

Let child continue to talk to lonely male visitor in an effort to cement his reputation as a possible paedophile.

Actively continue to express concern among other congregants but under no circumstances approach LMV.

When you have gathered enough evidence that a possible rescue mission making you the hero is evident, make approaches to the elders and Pastor about the danger of LMV's presence.

Under no circumstances approach the LMV or his family.

When the time is ripe, have Pastor approach the LMV and let him deal with it so that you don’t appear a bad person while you hide in the shadows to see the outcome.

File report with conference Safe-Place Co-ordinator and force her to deal with the unpleasant mess that you helped create.

Watch on while said LMV never wants to go to church again, not because he was found guilty but because he was traumatised by the whole punitive exercise.

Still, under no circumstances approach the LMV or his family.  If he is found not guilty then it will sully your reputation and destroy the culture of running to the pastor first with your problems.

Continue wringing your hands about the males that leave the church the moment they become teens and the surplus of young women who “Cannot find a good man”.

The author wishes to remain anonymous for good reason as this allegory is inspired by true events. LMV is still lonely and loves the Lord but shy’s away from being friendly to younger children because a seed of doubt has been planted in his mind that there might be something wrong with him. The Australian Victorian Local conference Safe-Place co-ordinator deals with thirty of these scenarios each week. The large majority of these are males.

Dear Mashup

I would like to disagree with your last editorial "Are Men More Important Than Women?" (May 2016). I regard myself as a regular Adventist male and from where I sit the women are actually more important than men. Men are less spiritual and less involved at church with some not even bothering to turn up making our women overworked and having to run everything. I blame the men for the situation we have now and its high time the church recognised and valued women and the work they do. Your push to bring men to the fore is unwelcome and needs to be tempered with the fact that men are the main problem in everything bad that happens in the world. I am ashamed to be a man and wish that the church would stop pandering to men and listen to our women as they know what the issues are and are quite capable of fixing anything as good if not better than men.

John Howe

Dear John

We are not really sure how to respond to this.

Why Cant We Be Truthful About Islam?

“We are shocked by these attacks. Violence in whatever name of God, can never be excused. At the same time, we must be careful to not treat a particular ethnicity or religion differently. Among the victims are all persuasions present, Muslim, Jew, Christian or Atheist."  --Belgium-Luxembourg Conference

"Firm and unconditional is our condemnation of all acts of terror, violence and oppression. May weapons, hate and violence cease! No religion is responsible for terrorism. People are responsible for violence and terrorism. We are all brothers and sisters, children of one same Father.”  --Inter-European Division

Our official responses to the Brussels bombing indicate more than just a fear of Muslim violence.  They sound exactly like the “politically correct” pabulum that regularly issues from every Western government, big corporation, or large organization that seeks cultural respectability.

See how multiculturalism has failed....

Pediatricians Call It What It Is - Child Abuse

The American College of Pediatricians has released an in-depth report stating that the move to indoctrinate children with the idea that they can pick their gender amounts to child abuse.

They are urging legislators and educators to reject all policies that would condition children to accept chemical and surgical distortions allowing people to impersonate the opposite sex.

See what they say....

Canberra Hospital has been forced to pull golliwog dolls off the shelves of its kiosk after a photo of the toys sparked anger online.

An ACT Health spokesperson said no offence was intended but the dolls would no longer be sold on hospital grounds after a tweet by a mother attending ante-natal classes at the hospital drew widespread attention on Wednesday. See full story here.

Should our pastors be overweight? They get sacked for having alcohol problems, church conflict and not enough baptisms... why not for being fat?

Is this going to help or hurt our health message?

PUC sacks gay sympathizing lecturer and student furore erupts.

You flout the rules then you get what's coming. Should we have sympathy for someone who disregards the rules? Many lose their jobs in the church for much less.

Is this the result of amalgamating our colleges with un-christian organisations and receiving government funding? More of the story here.

WA Adventist women's ministries promote video that demonises boys.

In one of their publications they provide a link to this video that shows boys as being the main agressors in later domestic violence which is a lie. Why are our churches condoning lies when they know women are the aggressors in the majority of cases?

Is ADRA helping terrorists kill Europeans?

Shouldnt ADRA be a little careful not to get involved in political assylum issues in case they are aiding terrorism? We already have Sanitarium providing financial support to AFIC who has been found by the ATO to be corrupt and supportive of terrorist related organisations. See ADRA in action here.

Become A Church Crash Test Dummy!

Mashup has been busily refining our new Crash Test Dummy system and now believes we have an easy to use format ready to roll out.

The new segment will begin soon where mystery Crash Test Dummy (CTD's) reporters will be commenting on how churches perform in a series of basic expectations when visited. Churches will be named rated out of 100% in the following areas:

  1. First Impressions (20 points)
  2. Functionality (10 points)
  3. Welcoming Feel (20 points)
  4. Sabbath School (20 points)
  5. Service Demographics (10 points)
  6. Service Delivery (20 points)

This fantastic new tool will assist churches with feedback they otherwise don't get from visiting patrons. Our CTD's are ready and willing to assist in this thankless task which will aid the growth of churches and help them improve or confirm the already good work they do.

We are now taking volunteers for our new CDT team. Please contact us here if you wish to sign on for this important ministry.

Have something to say? Frustrated with official church papers and their propaganda? Need to get something off your chest? Then write to us at Mashup and tell us what your thinking. We can guide you through a process of how to write effectively in an edgy style leaving readers wanting more.  Contact us by clicking here

Do You Worship Your Pastor?

As you might have guessed, I’ve talked to a lot of guys who’ve quit going to church. Their reasons vary, but a significant number fell away when they became disenchanted with their preacher.

My own father was among these men. Dad became angry with our minister over some petty disagreement. We stopped going to church when I was seven years old. Dad never attended regularly again.

Women see things differently. They are much less preacher-centered. When you ask a woman about her church she’ll tell you about her women’s group. Or the wonderful children’s ministry. Or the great worship music.

But when you ask a man about his church, the first (and often only) thing he talks about is the pastor. He doesn’t talk about the facilities. He doesn’t talk about his friendships. He talks about his pastor and the quality of his sermons. “Oh, Pastor Jimmy is just a regular guy. His sermons are awesome!” Or, “Our new pastor is a lousy teacher. I’m starving to death.”

Men don’t follow religions. Men don’t follow philosophies. Men don’t follow ideas. Men follow men.

See why this is.......

God Is Sending Islam To Punish The West

The rise of the world’s fastest growing religion and its connection with mass violence and terror has not been seen since the conquests of the dark ages. We in the west are totally unprepared or aware how things can turn epic very quickly. History is repeating, and modern day barbarism from extreme Islam reminds us of biblical stories where atrocities were committed under the watchful eye of Jehovah.

These atrocities came in the form of God allowing the enemies of Israel to have their way with them. Pagan nations were given access to just come in and take what they wanted ruling with exacting cruelty. God’s people chaffed under the Persians, Babylonians, Egyptians and Romans as a result of their disobedience.

So let me propose that God is sending Islam to the west again, the stronghold of democracy and freedom underpinned by Christian values, to punish us for our debauchery and wickedness.

See how Islam will be our masters soon...

The Erosion Of Gender And You

Over the past few decades, we've slowly been eroding what it means to be male and female. Recently this movement has culminated in normalizing transgenderism and the vilification of anyone who stands upon a traditional definition of male and female.

Just last week, President Obama mandated that public schools allow transgender students to use the bathrooms and locker rooms of their stated gender rather than their biological gender. The University of Vermont and other colleges now allow students to select their preferred personal pronouns (like xe, hir or zir) in their student database.

These shifts in how we approach gender encourage a young boy or girl to question, “Do I feel like a male or female?” As a result, the number of children seeking help for gender confusion has increased 1,000 percent within the last five years.

Domestic Violence Against Men Disputed

Thomas Parker, 21, sits in an empty room staring into his glass of whiskey and coke with two black eyes. He says he's a happy person but the tears welling in his eyes tell a different story.

"Well I used to be a happy person. I couldn't find one person that would call me angry or depressed," he says. "But the domestic violence, the stuff she has done to me, it's fucked with my head."

Parker swallows his tears along with his last half of whiskey and coke. Another male victim of domestic violence whose story has gone untold.

Misogynists Do A Better Job At Helping Women Than Feminists

Even when we discount the ridiculous accusation that we are advocates of rape, us men at ROK seem to get a bad reputation for being misogynists who hate women for no reason—and I don’t think that’s right at all.

If anything, we are the internet’s biggest advocates for women’s safety, health, and happiness. Where feminists have sold women out with false promises by toying with their emotions, we offer practical solutions to the problems that women face today.

See how real men do it....

Standish To Leave: Time To Celebrate?

James Standish's announcement to leave the Record as its editor may cause some to breathe a sigh of relief but we here at Mashup say not so fast...

Nobody would dispute that James in his obsession has championed the cause of women and even flouted the Adventist organisation during his time at the Record.

James has overseen a flurry of stories and articles focussing on how men are the bad ones and women the innocent victims of domestic violence.

His latter achievement's blossomed into the incessant promotion of new services that further added to the gynocentrism of the Record and consequently influencing the church's fear of white males.

All this under the growing knowledge that it is not the women that suffer in the church but the boys and men who leave. James has been in one of the most influential positions in the Adventist church in Australia during our greatest crisis of the 21st century but not one squeak from the outspoken feminist on the matter.

Instead we have seen a steady rise in the promotion of women's issues and the support of women (the churches healthiest demographic), under James leadership. Word is that a new program through the Record's media wing is going to be a Women's talk show - unbelievable.

So should James' leaving be welcomed by us here at Mashup? Thats a tough one because it all depends on who replaces him. One scenario is that one of his prototypes might be elevated into the editorial incubator. Not one of them gives us any evidence that they are capable of defending the churches most vulnerable demographic - men.

Or our greatest fear however is that there may already be politically correct discussions afoot that the Record has been a male domain for ages (Lol..) and its time to place a woman at the helm (not for ability but the usual gender balance nonsense), and complete the gynocentric picture. Ultimately turning the Record into a quazi Cleo magazine for all the white knights and subservient types to forever enjoy.

EDITOR POSITION

Mashup is looking for a person with the right temperament and writing ability to join us as an Associate editor. Tasks will include proof reading and sourcing stories from around the churches. The position will need to be a person who subscribes to the Fundamental beliefs and be a member of the Adventist church. The ability to look at things from other points of view and not be afraid to challenge the church on any number of issues is essential.
