FREE and Dirt Cheap Summer PD

I just wanted to alert you to some FREE and very cheap summer professional development opportunities for July and August.
Teach with Tech Conference (7/22-7/24): The Teach with Tech virtual conference is going to be most epic!!! 60+ 20 minute video sessions with 60 different speakers with a huge range of topics and strands will launch July 22nd. Here is a list of all 60 speakers. There are two ways to access the content:
  • FREE admissionFREE admission ends July 22nd. The FREE admission allows access to Day 1 sessions (20 sessions) and the videos will be delivered by email and can be rewatched till July 29th. 
  • Premium admissionPremium admission is $16.95 + $2.66 fee and that sale ends July 23rd. The Premium admission allows access to all 60 virtual sessions, the speaker Q&A during the session, certificate of completion, and access to all of the videos for one year.
My session is Noteworthy Note-taking (linked here) and will air on Day 2 from 1:00-1:20pm CST. In this webinar, I will share research on note-taking, the 4 main styles of note-taking, benefits of digital notebooks, and then share a step-by-step tool and guide to create digital note-taking guides and templates for students.
Conquering Digital Distractions (7/23 11:00-11:30am CST): This is a webinar I am doing with Simple K12. I will be sharing some activities, writing prompts, books, apps, tools, and best practices for managing digital distractions. The ideas in this session can be directly applied to students in the classroom as well as used in personal and professional settings with adult learners. If you sign up for a FREE simple K12 account, you will be able to watch the live webinar for FREE. Kids Deserve It (7/24 8:00pm CST): If you love connecting with fellow educators and enjoy fast-paced Twitter chats, I am hosting a Creatively Productive version of Kids Deserve It on 7/24 at 8:00pm CST. We will have 4 questions (see below) and share our tips, tools, and best practices for each.
  • Q1. What strategies do you use to manage your time and still remain productive (over the summer and/or during the school year)? Do you have any favorite apps, tips, tools, or processes?
  • Q2. What are your best practices (or processes) for setting and achieving personal and professional goals?
  • Q3. What are your favorite reflective practices personally, professionally, or activities to use with your students?
  • Q4. Where do you go to learn? Share your favorite books, blogs, Twitter chats, podcasts, virtual events, newsletters, conferences etc...
