5+ Creatively Productive Tips,
Tools, and Things to Love

📲Something You Should Download Immediately: I saw this floating around the Twitterverse and as I am a keynote junkie, this just made me all kinds of happy. It is a FREE iBook by Jessica Garrigan entitled "Let's Make Stuff!: 5 Keynote Templates to Amplify Learning" and includes 5 keynote templates. Did you know you could use keynote for a scavenger hunt, class discussion, or a scratch off card? If not, then this iBook is the gem you need!
😍A Tool You Will Love: This is absolutely random but I had to share. As you well know, I love graphics and fonts. I don't know that the Fuzzimo site is well updated (the last post was in 2013) BUT it is still functional and has tons of archived cool stuff to download as well as an Embossed Label Image Generator which is awesome to use in connection with posters, slide decks, and much more. I love mixing real analog things with my content and this is the site for it. You can download free graphics and backgrounds of papers, pens, books, notebooks, etc... If you want a quick way to scan all of the digital free goodies, I have a Pinterest board entitled Free Fab Fuzzimo to assist you.
👣Tips for Putting Students Best Digital Foot Forward: This past week my colleague and I completed our 11th parent webinar. This one was entitled "Putting Your Best Digital Foot Forward" (we had a few technical difficulties 😹with this one so skip to 2:25 and you will be good to go). This particular one touched on the good and bad of social media, what should and shouldn't be in a resume, and what a professional portfolio could look like. If you are wondering why this sounds vaguely familiar, I talked about this topic in greater detail and shared some links to specific examples in the 2/22 newsletter. 😉
💼A Site You Have to Visit: I love seeing how other people sort, organize, and make sense of their content. This past week in the bulbheads Facebook group I am a part of, this site was shared. It showcases quite awesomely how one could organize and structure folders and/or a portfolio. From content area and class period to skills highlights and project progression and professional and career portfolios, this collection was exactly what I was looking for!
🙌Someone You Must Follow on Instagram: I try to make sure that my Instagram is full of things that will inspire me rather than drain me. I happed upon this amazing account by Yukiko Sakamura. Her bio reads "Aspiring Essentialist, Statistics Instructor, Psychology Researcher, & Planning Addict" AND she shared the most awesome lists that really get me thinking. Sure these could be used personally or professionally, but they could also be used as creative writing prompts in an English class too. I love that she is so brave to share her own responses to these prompts as I think it makes us all feel like we are not alone in these struggles. Some of my faces are "Things I Want to Stop Doing", "My Antidote to Envy", and "Things I Tell Myself Every Day".

Sharing #CreativelyProductive

Over the last few weeks I mentioned that:
👉This week I wanted to share two things:
  • 🎧New Podcast!: If you don't listen to the OnEducation podcast, you absolutely should! It is fantastic. This week Glen and Mike talked about SpaceX, the best new series on Netflix, if giving 0's is an appropriate educational practice, and... shameless plug... they interviewed yours truly on a variety of #creativelyproductive tips, tools, and practices. The complete podcast is here. I believe the book interview comes in at about 38 minutes.
  • 📝Book Riot Post: (which is one of my favorite sites) featured my book journal and my reader's notebook process in a new post entitled "Book Journaling: What It is and How to Get Started" It also featured a handful of other book journal examples from other Instagrammers which were pretty cool as well!
