Third Sunday in Lent
Scripture: Mark 2:1-12
Join us on Sunday, March 19, as we continue our sermon series for Lent called "Interruptions," borrowed from the book of the same name by Jacob Armstrong. In the series, we are exploring the interruptions we face - large and small - and how God also calls us to be interrupters. This third Sunday, we'll look at the theme, "Interruptions Are Messy," through a story from Mark 2:1-12 in which Jesus forgives and heals a paralyzed man, whose friends lowered him down through a roof to meet Jesus. We hope you'll make plans to join us this Sunday at 10:30 am
A Note from Beth
My Dear Blakemore Church Family,

Thank you for the generous and joyous send off as I pursue my next venture in music ministry. The "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" canvas left me speechless -- and that's hard to do! Blakemore will always be my heart's home and I love you all dearly.

With gratitude,
Beth Holzemer

There is still time to join an in-home small group to talk about the book and share your own experiences and ideas in community. If you are interested in being part of a group, please connect with that group leader or simply show up to the group.

The Annual Conference voted last summer to allow a re-districting process for the Tennessee Conference. Below is an email announcing the end result of that process in which we are moving from seven to five districts. Blakemore will be in the Cumberland River District, and our new DS will be Rev. Scott Aleridge. We are on the southwestern border of this new district, which means that many of the churches with whom we have had close ties (St. John's, Clark Memorial, Belle Meade, 61st Avenue, Barth Vernon, etc.) will now be in a different district. Our new district stretches from us all the way over to east of Lebanon and up to a significant portion of the border with Kentucky; it includes 114 churches.

While this change does not have an immediate impact on Blakemore and our ministry here on the corner of West End and Bowling, it will create changes in the conference and how we relate and are connected to other churches. Additionally, pastoral appointments are scheduled to be announced on Palm Sunday, April 9. You can read more here, including a map and link to a listing of all the churches in the new districts.
UMCOR Sunday is March 26. This is an opportunity for us to intentionally give to the United Methodist Committee on Relief as they continue to do Christ's work to reach children, families, and communities who have experienced devastation in the wake of disaster. More information about UMCOR and its work can be accessed here.
More information about how we're serving our Nashville Community during MORE Missions Week (next week!) can be found on our website
