Eighth Sunday after Pentecost
Scripture: Acts 15:1-21

This Sunday, we continue our new sermon series entitled "Being Church" that will take us through the summer months. Throughout the series, we will look at the book of Acts, which recounts the story of the early church, to rediscover what it means to be the church. This week we will hear about the importance of Radical Inclusion in Acts 15:1-21, which tells us of the great Council at Jerusalem in which Gentiles are fully and officially welcomed into the Church. We hope you'll join us this Sunday at 10:30 a.m!

FREE DEPRESSION SUPPORT GROUP
Thursday, July 7, at 6:30 PM
Room 204   2 Hour Session
Facilitated by Gayle Lembcke,
Social Worker

Come join us, share, and feel unconditional love and support!

The Depression Support Group is rapidly growing!  Only 2 weeks ago 15 people attended--our biggest number yet!--and several of our regular attendees were not present.  Our sign is bringing in new community people every week as they recognize their need for support in difficult times.  The group has become too large to be effective for everyone to have time to share.  Gayle needs assistance and possibly someone to facilitate a second group.  If you are a good listener and comfortable with people expressing a variety of feelings, this is an opportunity for you to serve in a much needed Blakemore ministry.  Gayle is happy to answer any questions or discuss further your potential leadership.  Contact Gayle Lembcke at 615-646-8710 or 615-305-4974 or e-mail her at lembckeg@bellsouth.net.

Children's Sermon Sign Up

Go to Sign Up Genius and volunteer to give a 2-3 minute lesson during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.  Thank you for your willingness to participate in Blakemore's ministry to our young children. For more information, contact Ladonna Merville (lmerville@bellsouth.net)

On Friday, August 5, all incoming 7th graders are invited to join the Blakemore youth for a special overnight event at the church.  Games, fun, service...we will celebrate everything that it means to be a Blakemore youth as you join the youth group.  Details coming soon, but contact Julia Crone, Blakemore Youth Director, or Kevin Walker, Blakemore Children's Director, for more information.
Sign up at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0a4caeae23a02-bonnie to provide meals for Bonnie Spear, our Blakemore Children's Center Director, who is recovering from cancer surgery and follow-up treatment.
