We are nearly half way to our target of collecting over 500 wishes from local people. To thank you for contributing and to encourage more people to give us their wishes for the St James Street area, entries in our online survey from now until midnight on 30th September 2014 will be entered into a prize draw for a £50 shopping voucher.
It doesn't matter if you have completed the survey before but just make sure you use this link to be in with a chance to enter.
Terms & Conditions apply as at www.stjamesbiglocal.co.uk
As part of the St James Street Big Local there will be a jumble trail in the mile around St James Street Station on Sunday 21st September 2014 10am-3pm. The idea is that people set up stalls selling bric-a-brac, crafts, clothes, cakes etc in their front gardens as a way of getting rid of some stuff and getting to know their neighbours. It's like a car boot sale in people's front gardens but costs nothing to participate and St James Big Local will do all the publicity - all we ask is that stallholders hand out some Big Local information and ask 5 friends, neighbours or relatives to take a short survey. We will deliver the Big Local papers to you in advance and collect them afterwards. To join in register your stall online by entering your name and postcode, for it to be automatically added to the printable map which will guide people to you. We already have 24 stalls registered so it should be a great day and with over a month to go, we should have a good chance of beating Hackney's total of 100 stalls! It is a really great fun way to spend the day so to register/find out more, go to www.stjamesbiglocal.co.uk/jumbletrail
If you are having trouble registering or know someone who wants to be involved but doesn't have internet access, please get in touch with our worker Neesha Badhan at firstname.lastname@example.org or on her Big Local phone number: 07881 015 873
How can you help?
This autumn our group will begin the process of setting up "The Partnership" which will be a new transparent, democratic and cooperative organisation which will take St James Big Local through the next 10 years and beyond. If you are interested in being involved please speak to our worker Neesha Badhan for more information. Details as above.
We are also looking for volunteers to help with IT, marketing, film making, admin, event planning, data entry, newsletter production, human resources and finance/accounting. If you have any experience (or want to get some!) do get in touch by sending us a message through the website here.
Do you have a group that would want to host or attend a meeting? Or do you have an idea for a consultation event? Send us a message here.
