Jumble Trail 21st Sept 2014
A great day - Thanks to you!
Residents set up stalls in their front gardens to sell their food, crafts and forgotten treasures. Everything from vintage clothing and furniture, to homemade sweet treats and toys were available to purchase. We had a HUGE turnout with 119 stalls registering and customers coming from Hackney & Chingford to boost E17 numbers. Bargain hunters navigated their own trail through the streets with the aid of a downloadable map providing the location of all stalls.
Visit www.stjamesbiglocal.co.uk/jumbletrail to see photos from the day and quotes from those who attended. The sun shone, people made a little money and cleared some junk, but most of all it was great to meet new friends and realise that we share our community with some really nice people.
See below for a selection of pictures. If you want to do it again next year or you know people who do, make sure that you sign up to our mailing list and complete our online surveys.
For those who are hanging on to paper surveys, do fill them in and get in touch about getting them back to us. Each stallholder had 5 survey sheets, but don't worry if you only managed 1 or 2 responses. We need 100 surveys back to meet our targets, so every single one counts and we would gratefully collect them from you!
This autumn our group will begin the process of setting up "The Partnership" which will be a new transparent, democratic and cooperative organisation which will take St James Big Local through the next 10 years and beyond. If you are interested in being involved please speak to our worker Neesha Badhan for more information at stjamesbiglocal.co.uk or 07881 015 873.
Do you have a group that would want to host or attend a meeting? Or do you have an idea for a consultation event with a local community event? We could visit you to collect your wishes for St James Street? Send us a message here.
