Term 3 school arrangements
We have updated our COVID information page to reflect the current restrictions for P&C activities - check out the details for P&C meetings and fundraising (there are no changes for uniform shop and canteen this term).
Because schools ar e still under pressure from staff absences, Council is asking that P&Cs be mindful of teacher workloads and work collaboratively to support them. For example:
- only P&C activities which DO NOT require teacher time should go ahead
- activities which require help from other school staff (eg the front office collecting money, orders or raffle tickets) should be kindly discussed with the school first
- note that things can change quickly - an activity that seemed ok to proceed may be subject to last-minute cancelation.

Fundraising resources
Just a reminder about our P&C Fundraising page!
You'll find a range of resources, including:
- regulations you need to comply with when running common fundraisers (eg raffles)
- examples of successful fundraisers by other P&Cs
- resources to help you keep it healthy
- COVID-friendly ideas

Funding reusables for your canteen
Some P&C-run canteens are wanting to move away from disposable containers and cutlery, but lack the funds for purchasing suitable replacements - and a commercial dishwasher to wash them in! Well, we have good news! The Education Directorate have confirmed that a school's solar feed-in tariff proceeds may be used to fund such items which will reduce waste in schools. A feed-in tariff application form would be needed from the school.
Come along to our Canteen Sub Committee Meeting (see below) for the details or contact our office.

Education Stakeholder Roundtable
To discuss the impact of COVID in public schools, Council asked for a Roundtable discussion with all education stakeholders. This took place last week, and Council representatives were pleased to have an opportunity to voice parents views and concerns. We expressed how concerned parents are about disruptions to their children's learning and wellbeing - from split classes to learning from home - and potential learning gaps from years of disruptions. We asked that communications to parents, and what channels are preferred, be looked at more closely, and insisted that ILPs, where they are in place, must continued to be followed despite the current situation. Come along to our August meeting (see below) to hear more!
