Handing over your role?
If your role on the P&C is ending, please pass on to your new committee the importance of letting Council know who they are, using our Office Bearers Form. Once this has been completed, we can greet new office bearers, offer assistance, and they will automatically start receiving this bulletin from us. If you no longer wish to receive this email bulletin, please use the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom.
It is also important to equip your successor with the tools they need for the job. See our sample handover notes for Presidents and Secretaries (sample notes for Treasurers coming soon!) and our Information Sheet on helping new office bearers.

Avoiding RSI in kids - free presentation
To kick off the first Council General Meeting this year, we have a presentation from Ann Thomson, Director of the RSI and Overuse Injury Association of the ACT, on avoiding over-use injuries (RSI) in school students. As this topic is likely to be of interest to many parents, feel free to pass it on to parents at your school. You can share the event on Facebook, include it in an email or newsletter to parents (use this template for Council items in your newsletter if you wish).
The meeting is on Tuesday February 28 at 6:45pm for a 7pm start, at the Centre for Teaching and Learning, 51 Fremantle Drive, Stirling. Please RSVP.
After the presentation, we will proceed with our meeting, including discussions on school cooling, managing violence in schools, relationships between P&Cs and principals and recognising parent volunteers. Agendas have been distributed to P&C office bearers and delegates. All are welcome and there is always time allocated to hearing issues from P&Cs.
