Council's FREE workshops help P&C office bearers come to grips with their roles. Contact our office to RSVP for any of these. (More details here on all the workshops.)
Effective P&C workshop
Thursday March 31, 6:30 - 9pm (Centre for Teaching & Learning, Stirling)
Repeated Saturday April 2 - 4:30pm (100 Maitland St Hackett)
Covering ways to improve how your association works, recruiting volunteers, fundraising and the P&C as an employer, this workshop is for new P&C members and continuing officers alike. The workshop is divided into five 30-minute modules and you can attend for individual modules if you wish.
Treasurers' & Insurance workshop
Thursday April 7, 7:00 - 9:30pm (Centre for Teaching & Learning, Stirling).
Information on P&C finances, record keeping, reports & audits, taxation, staff employment and more, plus a detailed look at the insurance package available for P&C associations through Council and how to complete the paper work.

Term break office hours
The Council office is officially closed during the school holiday, but staff will still be attending several times a week to answer your email queries or respond to phone message. This means that you can still contact us, but we would appreciate your patience.

Free workshop for parents of kids on the autism spectrum
The ACT Positive Partnerships program will be running a workshop on Wednesday May 4 (9:15am-3pm) for parents and carers of school-age children on the autism spectrum. The federally funded program is designed to improve learning outcomes. The workshops are a great opportunity to understand how to help your child learn, build and maintain an effective home/school partnership and work with the school to develop shared goals. It is also an opportunity to connect with other parents. Register online. Email with queries or call 1300 881 971.

Free Home Energy Seminars
The ACT Government's Home Energy Advice Service offers free Home Energy Advice Seminars for your school community. These provide your families with practical advice and solutions to reduce energy consumption that will save them money, without compromising the comfort of their home. The Service can also attend your school fete to provide advice to patrons. Healthy relationships for 14-18 year olds
Relationship Things is an online resource from the YWCA designed to help people aged 14 through 18 decide what kinds of relationships are good for them. It deals with gender, choice, communication, relationships, consent and safe sex, and includes information for teenagers, educators and parents.
