P&Cs need to know...

A massive welcome to all the new P&C Office Bearers! Thanks for volunteering (or volunteering again!).

This fortnightly eBulletin goes to all P&C Office Bearers with must-know info to keep your P&C on track this year! Plus, updates on what P&C Council is up to (you are our members, after all) and interesting info you might like to share.

Please remember that P&C Council is here to help you, so please check out our online resources, sign up for our free member training (see below), or call (6241 5759) or email with any questions.

If you are finishing up on your P&C, a huge THANK YOU for all your volunteered time and effort.

Please do get the new committee to let us know who they are via our Office Bearer's Form.

Remember to pass on your valuable knowledge to the next person! Some short handover notes with key information and a description of what to do is so important. To make it easier we have templates for Presidents, Secretaries and Treasurers for you to customise for your P&C.

If you no longer wish to receive these bulletins, please hit 'unsubscribe' at the bottom. Thanks! 😊

Canteens: Flexischools help
Some P&C-run canteens have been frustrated with the service that they have been getting from Flexischools of late. We met with them last week to let them know and they have assured us that outages are reducing and that their help line, which was closed due to COVID, is now open. You can get help from Flexischools:
  • Online - Any time, via the supplier contact form.
  • PhoneBetween 8am- 4pm (AEDST) on Weekdays: 1300 590 044.
  • Parents with difficulties ordering or paying can use the parent contact form or call 1300 361 769.
Flexischools have also developed some quick how-to guides for your parents to help them use the system.

Education for students with disability

The Education Directorate is having a Community Conversation on how to strengthen inclusive education and deliver the best possible learning opportunities for children and young people with disability in public schools.

Parents, carers and young people are encouraged to complete the re-launched survey if you didn't do so last year. It has been updated following feedback from stakeholders, including Council.

You can also join a small group conversation (online consultation sessions) and can include any support needed to participate.
Parent input into a mental health resource

Researchers at the Australian National University are developing a resource to help parents support the mental health needs of their children. Parents/caregivers are currently being invited to share their thoughts on what would be helpful in this new resource, via a 20-30 minute survey.
Youth input on online safety

The Federal Government's eSafety Commission is looking for 20 young people aged from 13 to 24 years to be part of an Online Safety Youth Advisory Council to help inform policies and programs for young people and provide advice to the Government about their experiences online. They are looking for a diverse range of voices. Find our more and apply here before 14 March.
