What do you want from your school?
You can have your say on problems, issues or what is working well in the ACT schooling system as part of the ACT Government's consultation on the Future of Education.
The Your Say website has been updated with new ways of having input, such as a discussion board, as well as an array of background information and materials to help with a discussions which you may like to hold at your P&C meeting. Feedback in any form is welcome - even if it is a collection of post-it-notes with thoughts from the attendees of your next meeting! Email or call the Future of Education team on 6205 4124.
Also, save the date for Council's Future of Education Forum - September 7 at 7pm - where we will hear more about the process and what the feedback has been so far, as well as a chance to thoroughly air your views on ACT schools.

If this resonates with you, you can sign up to the email list and listen out for how to help.

National Fete Research Project
The National Fete Research Project has been launched - the very first large-scale survey of school fetes in Australia. We hope it will deliver important data for school parent committees and help us learn from experience across Australia (the results will be shared with Council). It's an online survey and it would be great if each P&C completed it. You can complete the survey even if you have not held a fete as we want to know why! It's helpful, but not essential, to have your most recent fete information to hand when you complete the survey, and it will take around 20 minutes (more if a lot of detail is shared). Closes October 13.

Get your school back to nature
Landcare Australia is asking schools to get back to nature and help raise funds for our Aussie environment by taking part in an event for Landcare Week this September. The theme for the week is 'Get hands on with nature’ and your school could, for example, organise a bush walk with a local ranger, have a ‘go green’ day and have everyone wear green, or let nature be your classroom for the day! Get more ideas and register to participate here.
You could even tap into ' Outdoor Classroom Day' on Thursday September 7. NaturePlayCBR have lesson plans, posters, inspiration, hints and tip to inspire outdoor learning and play.
