Parent survey
Please share our survey for parents and carers of kids who started Preschool or Kindy this year!
Starting school is such an important time, so Council would like to know more about the experiences families have. Our Starting Preschool/Kindy Survey explores engagement and support for families so we can understand what improvements might be made. We'd love you to share it with families at your school. It's open until July 30 and takes only 5 minutes.

#6: Work with the Principal
Everyone benefits most if your P&C and principal/school can work well together:
- align your goals
- ask the principal and board for funding priorities
- Coordinate school and P&C calendars so events don’t hit families all at once
- provide feedback to help the school improve its communication with parents
- share your agenda with the principal before a P&C meeting: an informal chat will ensure everyone knows what to expect.

Can you help? Xero expertise
One of our P&Cs needs a little help. Their treasurer tragically passed away recently, and they need some interim assistance to understand the accounting software, and do tax-time payroll tasks for their canteen employees. Their books are in good order (the treasurer was an accountant), but they have been unable to find a volunteer in their community who is familiar with their accounting system: Xero.
If you think you might be able to help, please contact our office, and we will put you in contact.

If you employ staff
If your P&C employs staff, please note that from 1 July 2022, the super guarantee rate will increase to 10.5%, and more employees will be eligible for super because the $450 eligibility threshold is being removed. Find out more from the ATO.

Deducible gift recipients
If your P&C is a deductible gift recipient (DGR) and not registered as a charity, look out for correspondence from the Australian Tax Office as requirements are changing. This may require you to update your ATO contact person, which can be tricky if volunteers have moved on. Contact us if you have any issues.
