Focus on Canteens
Anyone with an interest in school canteens is invited to Council's Canteens Working Group meeting. This is an opportunity for questions, answers and discussion on all aspects of school canteens, as well as the current state of our canteen improvement program and NSWBuy access. Representatives from Nutrition Australia, ACT Health, the Education Directorate and the Minister’s adviser will be there, so it is a great opportunity to bring up issues and brainstorm solutions. Join us at 7pm on Thursday 26 June at the Hedley Beare Centre, 51 Fremantle Drive, Stirling.
Please advise us if you plan to attend the meeting.

Help for P&Cs
Check out the up-dated resources for P&Cs on our website. There is a list of grants available to P&Cs, a sample constitution, a template for a flyer to promote your P&C to parents at your school, and we are working on sample hand-over notes for each of the executive roles.
Please let us know if there is something else we can provide which would make it easier for your P&C to keep doing the great things you do. or any resources which you have which other P&Cs would benefit from sharing. we are also looking for more Grants to add to our listing.

Parent engagement project
The ACT Government has commissioned ARACY (Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth) to look into how parents should best engage with their children's learning and how schools should best engage parents. A guest speaker at Council's next meeting will tell us more about this important project. Everyone is welcome and delegates are encouraged to attend. The meeting is at the Hedley Beare Centre, 51 Fremantle Drive, Stirling, on Tuesday June 24, from 6:45pm.
The meeting will also discuss school parking problems, finding financial auditors, applying for government grants and Council's response to the federal School Chaplaincy program.
