P&Cs need to know...

Constitution workshop

We haven't had enough interest in our constitution workshop to run it this month, so we have postponed it until Tuesday 30 July (those who registered have been contacted directly). If your P&C constitution is out of date and needs revising, this is the workshop for you. Find out more and sign up here.

Addressing violence in schools - have your say

The Education Directorate and Council are working to understand how, together, parents, students, principals and teachers can reduce and better respond to violence and bullying in schools in a project called Building Strong and Safe Communities for Learning. (Find out more in this article.)

From June 12 - 18, the project will be calling on members of the public to have their say. Parents, carers and friends can come along for a carefully designed 2 hour workshop session to hear about the ideas generated by the project so far and comment on how they might really work for families and schools. There is also chance to provide new ideas and further feedback.

We want as many people as possible to have input, so there will be a number of different day-time sessions, child-minding available, and evening sessions for working parents. Light refreshments will be provided. If you would like to be involved, please let us know or contact Ms Leanne Ballard (6205 2912).

We would appreciate you sharing this information with your school community.

If you employ staff

If you are an employer, you need to be aware of the new Single Touch Payroll requirements - more information in this article. We also covered the requirements in our Treasurer’s workshop last week and can provide you with a copy of the presentation for more information if you wish. Council has also written to the ATO seeking an exemption for not for profit organisations with volunteer treasurers who employ only one person.

Buses for school

We are still collecting feedback the new bus network and would like to hear from any public school parents, carers or students about any specific difficulties you have. Simply email us, and please spread the word among your school community.
