P&Cs need to know...

Your 2018 committee

As soon as you know the wonderful people who will make up your 2018 committee, please make sure you let us know who they are, using our Office Bearers' Form.

As soon as we know who your new office bearers are, we'll subscribe them to this information bulletin (if you are new to the Council Communicator, hello and thanks for volunteering for your P&C!) and can reach out with our members services.

Getting started

If you are new to the P&C, our 'To Do list' and FAQ are a great place to start. We also have an extensive set of Information Sheets which cover most areas of P&C life. Do come along to some training too (see below) to make the most of your new position without extra stress.

Free training

We run free training to help P&C committee members. Find out more and sign up online!

Effective P&C Workshop: how to manage your P&C well. From 'what is our P&C all about?' to running meetings well and attracting volunteers, hear the advice Council has distilled over the years and meet others in the same position as yourself.       Tuesday May 1, 6:30-9:00pm

Treasurer & Insurance Workshop: make your job as treasurer as successful and easy as possible and learn the details of the P&C insurance package.    Thursday April 12, 7-9:30pm

Delegates welcome!

It was great to see so many new (and continuing!) delegates at our welcome event last week, sharing stories and a bite to eat. If you are your school's delegate to Council and were not able to make it, you can find the delegates information pack online.

Facebook favourites

One of our most loved services (according to our  member survey) is the Council Facebook feed. Feel free to click through and follow our page! Due to new Facebook quirks, it's best to click 'see first' when following us if you want to keep seeing our posts. We promise not to overwhelm your feed, and we are working harder to connect P&Cs and share the great things you are doing.

General meeting report

Last week's meeting was an interesting one. The summary is now available, covering Mike Battenally's presentation about P&Cs and principals working together, updates on Council's discussions with the Directorate, business model review and violence in schools workshop.

Canteen committee

Council's canteen focus group also met last week and discussed recent developments in the canteen 'space', upcoming training, canteen deeds and renewals, access to wifi, flexischools, and more. Take a look at the notes from the meeting if you are interested, and contact us with any questions or to join the group.
