P&Cs need to know...

Membership fees - thanks


Many thanks to the many P&Cs who have already paid their Council membership fees for the year. We use the fees we collect to help you with your role on the P&C, and to represent your views (find out more here). Fees are due by the end of this month and invoices were emailed to treasurers several weeks ago.

Constitution workshop


Our workshop on amending your P&C's constitution is all set for Thursday June 28, from 6:45 to 9:00pm, at the Centre for Teaching and Learning, 51 Fremantle Drive, Stirling. There are still spaces available if you think your constitution needs work - find out more and sign up online.

Container deposit scheme - fundraising opportunity


The ACT Container Deposit Scheme will begin on 30 June. From this date, Canberra residents will be able to receive a 10 cent refund on eligible drink containers – reducing litter and creating a cleaner, safer environment.
 
The scheme is also a potential fundraising opportunity for local community groups. Come along to the community information session to find out more. Its on 6-7pm, Wednesday June 13 at the Canberra Southern Cross Club, Woden. It's free, but do RSVP.
Council happenings...

Hear from the Minister at our General Meeting


Come along to our next General Meeting, 7pm Tuesday June 26 and hear from ACT Education Minister, Yvette Berry, on the Future of Education. There will even be time for a few questions. 

After that, take part in our regular meeting. We'll be asking for your views on NAPLAN, discussing online fundraising, book-packs and safety in our school zones. It is on at the Centre for Teaching and Learning in Stirling.

North Gungahlin's new school is set to open at the start of 2019. The ACT Government is asking for input into the school's identity, including the school name, logo and uniform colours.
