Council AGM
Our Annual General Meeting is just two weeks away. Please join us! The guest speaker will be Mr Ben McHugh, from Transport Canberra who will provide an update on the Active Streets program which addresses road and traffic safety around schools.
There is still time to nominate for positions on the Council Executive Committee, and a range of other representative roles on government advisory committees and the like. Voting for these positions will be conducted at the AGM. The composition of Council working groups will also be finalised.

How was your year on the P&C?
Thanks for volunteering your time to your P&C in 2016. How did it go? We’d love to know more about your experiences via our short survey.
Thanks to those who have already responded. We will use the results to improve our support for P&Cs and to better represent your experiences to government.

Audit training
Council has been working on ways to help P&C treasurers find suitable auditors that do not cost a fortune. We have developed a short workshop on how to audit a small P&C. The aim is to train treasurers to be capable of doing the minimum audit necessary for a small P&C so that treasurers from near-by P&Cs could audit each others' accounts and avoid having to pay for expensive auditors.
This free workshop is on Thursday this week from 7-9pm at our Hackett office meeting room (100 Maitland street). If you'd like to come, please let us know.
