Australian Early Development Census for Year 1 students

The 2015 Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) will be conducted in May and June. It’s a national census that helps shape the future wellbeing of Australian children by providing evidence to support health, education and community policy and planning.

Teachers answer questions about five different areas that are important for children's development: physical health and wellbeing, social competence, emotional maturity, language and cognitive skills and communication skills and general knowledge.

The AEDC website explains why participation is important and how the census provides information for schools, parents and governments to take action. For example, see how the AEDC helped improve the oral health of children in Tasmania.

Manage your subscription

If your role with the P&C or Council is ending and you no longer wish to receive this fortnightly bulletin, you can unsubscribe, or change your details, using the links at the very end of each bulletin. Please take the time to do this, rather than confining us to "junk" (this gives us a bad 'reputation' and causes us technical headaches).
