Your Annual General Meeting
It's a legal requirement for P&Cs to hold an Annual General Meeting within five months of the end of their financial year (Dec 31 for almost all P&Cs). Most AGMs are held in Term 1, but because you need to send out notice of the meeting to your members prior to your AGM, it's best to do so before the end of the school year.
Running an AGM doesn't have to be stressful - we have information and resources to help including Information Sheets, checklists, template agenda and minutes, template President’s and committee reports, and nomination/declaration forms for people nominating for committee positions.

Thank your volunteers
Term 4 is a great time to say 'thanks' to all your P&C's volunteers. A simple 'thank you' goes a long way, but a special mention at a school assembly, or specific event such as a morning tea is bound to make people feel more appreciated and help your P&C continue to recruit helpers (now is also a good time to find recruits for next year's committee members - see our resources to help).
We've teamed up with the Education Directorate to produce a professionally designed Certificate of Appreciation which schools or P&Cs can download, add the volunteer name and print. Presented at a special event, these can have a lasting impact. The Directorate distributed these to all principals (last year) so that they are ready to use at your school, or download them from our website.

Year 12 getting their ATAR?
A journalist from the Canberra Times has asked us if any families with students receiving an ATAR this year (next Friday morning) would be willing to share the moment when they find out their score with the paper. The journalist would work in a respectful way with the family to share this big moment. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact our Communication Officer, Janelle, by phone (6241 5759) or email.
