ISO 17025 accreditation for CEM gases
EffecTech are pleased to announce that they have extended their ISO 17025 scope of accreditation and are now accredited providers of gases for the calibration of continuous emission monitors (CEM). The scope of accreditation includes the measurands CO, CO2
and NO in nitrogen binaries. This method is for use at our Uttoxeter and Qatar facility. Our scope shows our CMCs are amongst the best available in Europe. To see our full schedule of accreditation for ISO 17025 please click here
Growth of the EffecTech family
This year has seen a significant growth in the number of staff at the EffecTech headquarters in Uttoxeter, UK.
The Sales and Marketing team has increased with two new appointments; Katie Forrester and Ellie Henshall-Bell. They start in new roles as a Technical Sales Specialist and Technical Sales and Marketing Specialist, respectively.
The Site Services team welcomes three new Gas Quality Engineers, James Boon, Greg Walker and Leon Kashap to help meet our increasing demand for ISO 10723 Performance Evaluations and ISO 17020 Inspections of gas quality measurement systems.
The Laboratory Services team welcomes two new Scientists, Vivien Lee and Simon Yau to our world leading accredited calibration laboratory. Also joining the calibration laboratory is Cameron Carpenter-Warren, an undergraduate student from Loughborough University. He will be with the Company for 12 months on an Industrial Placement. Cameron is, in fact, the sixth Industrial Placement Student from Loughborough University, which only highlights the strength of the relationship between the two establishments.
This relationship has also led to EffecTech’s involvement in the sponsorship of an Engineering Doctorate, Joey Walker. Joey will be carrying out research for improving methods for the measurement of gaseous fuels at EffecTech’s Bespoke Research Facility.
A fond farewell to Patrick Wallis
After 17 years service, EffecTech said its goodbyes today to Patrick Wallis, Founding Partner and Director of Operations. A day of mixed emotions saw Patrick receive various mementos from his time with the Company including a facsimile chromatogram of natural gas, a specially commissioned drawing of the Company and its staff represented as caricatures and a cast metal service award.
The photograph shows the Executive Board of EffecTech and owners (l-r) Dr Paul Holland, Dr Gavin Squire, Patrick Wallis and Christopher Cowper.
Dr Gavin Squire, CEO EffecTech Group, said "The recognised status of EffecTech as Global Leaders in Gas Measurement is testament to the contribution Patrick has made since the Company's humble beginnings in 1996. He will be sorely missed."
