Pharmacy Covid Vaccinations
Expressions of Interest
This message is for all pharmacy contractors
The Regional LPCs would like to highlight the Expression of Interest process that has been released by NHS England for Pharmacies to put themselves forward to provide Covid vaccines.
Links to the details and the process can be found below for your convenience. The LPCs of the region would suggest that pharmacies consider expressing their interest.
It is important to note that as there is currently no priority locations identified for our geographies and contractors only need to fill in section 1 to express an interest. Section 2 will only be needed if you are approached by NHSE for more details. We would also say that you should not make any capital investments to set up at this moment and only do so if you have been approached and you have confirmation that your application will be progressed.
We would also like to point out that expressing an interest does not mean you will be chosen but equally it does not mean you need to commit at this stage either.
We understand that consideration will be given to pharmacies working together collaboratively to offer the service however the contract will be held by one contractor so this may be an option for some pharmacy contractors.
At this time this seems to be the only opportunity for pharmacy to get involved however the situation is constantly changing if any other opportunities materialise we will let you know
