The Young & The Browless
Add an extra lift to your brow to feel and look younger with microblading from Beau Institute! Regardless of your reason for brow loss, microblading uses an advanced permanent cosmetic technique in hair simulation, or shading that can create soft, subtle, and beautiful eyebrows! Beauchemin, known as the “Queen of Brows”, uses her exclusive system called CPR (Control Point Remedy) to design brows to suit your face in its entirety while complementing every feature. Brows appear totally natural and lend personal freedom from the laborious chore of applying them each morning. The permanent brows can even give clients thirty additional minutes of sleep each morning, and save them the additional re-application often required throughout the day.
In addition, Beau Institute will be offering 4-6 microneedling treatments for a total of $1000 rather than a $275 fee each procedure. PLUS, you will receive a free Procell serum, a skincare cream exclusively used for rejuvenating that sells at retail for up to $250! Microneedling therapy is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin. Through the process of neovasculatization and neocollagenesis, there is improvement in texture and firmness, as well as reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.
Check out Beau Institute for more information on how you can start feeling young again!

PAWS Celebrates Its 10th Birthday!
PAWS is reaching an exciting milestone this year! Beginning in 2006 as a small, volunteer-based group with a big dream: to make Philadelphia a place where every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home. At the time, more than 30,000 animals entered the city shelter each year, and only 11% made it out alive.
Since then, PAWS has grown into an extraordinary community of thousands of volunteers, adopters, foster parents, volunteers, donors, supporters, and staff who are working together to save lives. Today, nearly 80% of the city's shelter pets are finding loving homes, fewer animals are entering shelters in the first place, and Philadelphia is within reach of becoming a no-kill city.
PAWS has a lot in store to commemorate this milestone, and can't wait to celebrate with all animal lovers. Stay tuned for details on a special 10th Birthday Party for the PAWS community to celebrate all we have accomplished together and what makes PAWS what it is!

Chef Brian Duffy served up to 200 Veterans
at a feast to be remembered
On November 11, 2016 Veterans Multi-Service Center (VMC) partnered with Flying Fish Crafthouse, Romano’s Stromboli, Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant, and 7-Eleven to host a “Celebration of Service” luncheon for those who have served our nation; our veterans.
When our veterans answered the call to service, they did so without hesitation. When VMC sought community partners to ensure a feast benefitting over 200 heroes attending its annual luncheon, Flying Fish Crafthouse, Romano’s Stromboli, Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant, and 7-Eleven responded with enthusiasm.
The Veterans Day luncheon showcased the talent of Chef Brian Duffy, who had volunteered to organize a team with supplies provided by all partners.

Mummers Come Together to Give Back
to Philadelphia's Comfort House
|
|
On Saturday, November 19, 30+ Mummers (New Year’s Associations) came together and donated wish list items to the veterans to re-energize the reopening of the Comfort House.
The Philadelphia Veteran’s Comfort House has provided a safe place to vets who need a place to get a hot meal, accessible place to live, and guidance or VA benefits and programs, all free of charge. Representatives from groups across the community including the veterans service organizations, labor unions, government and the private sector joined forces to buy the building, renovate the structure and purchase the needed materials to make their idea a reality. After much hard work, the Philadelphia Veterans Comfort House (PVCH) was born.

LeaseUp and PAWS Teamed Up to Help a Few Lucky Dogs Find a New Home
Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society teamed up with LeaseUp at The Fairmount at Brewerytown on Sunday, November 20, 2016 to help three lovable dogs find a new home just in time for the holidays. Not only were individuals granted with the opportunity to add a new member to their family, but they were also able to check out one of the new spots to live in historic Brewerytown. The Fairmount @ Brewerytown apartments feature a dog park on the magnificent rooftop with panoramic views of the city, making it even more tempting to adopt these precious pups.
"We are so happy for the opportunity to introduce adoptable dogs to Brewerytown!” says Melissa Levy, PAWS Executive Director. “Our friends at The Fairmount at Brewerytown have created the perfect environment for a new pet, and we hope to make matches there that will last a lifetime.”
Jackson, Hunter, and Shoeshine now all have homes to lovable and caring families!
