Philadelphia’s famous New Year’s Mummers Brigades from 36 different club joined together on November 18, 2017 to donate wish list items to the Philadelphia Veteran’s Comfort House for the upcoming holiday season. The Philadelphia Veteran’s Comfort House is a local non-profit organization with a mission to give homeless veterans a chance to start again, restore a sense of confidence in them and guide them in pursuit of permanent housing and employment. In addition to the donated wish list items, South Philly’s Toll Man Joe’s, will also be providing a Thanksgiving Day feast to 150 Veterans who would otherwise have nowhere else to go on the day of thanks.

A New York City Cosmetic Dentist desire to help others who are less fortunate has spiraled his involvement in many charities from oral care to feeding the homeless. Dr. Daniel Rubinshtein and his time spent on several dental outreaches that has served under privileged communities throughout the country, displays his genuine concern for not only the art of dentistry but also the importance of dental health.
Dr. Rubinshtein provided aspiring hip hop artist, 52 Savage, with a new smile after listening to concerns of his career due to his teeth on the popular radio show, the Breakfast Club. Dr. Rubinshtein quickly realized he had the ability to give back through his profession and reached out to 52 Savage to provide him with a smile makeover of a lifetime! He also ran a Smile Makeover Contest that changed the life of YouTube sensation, Haley Jordan. In addition, Dr. Rubinshtein set up shop in Union Square downtown New York City to pay it forward. With the help from a local barber, and a positive content creator, Dr. Rubinshtein provided basic dental care, a haircut, food, and a job to a young homeless individual. The video recapping the day has also received over 21 million Facebook views!
