Serial Entrepreneur Creates A Better Path for Entrepreneurs to Succeed
A first of its kind pop-up shop drives economic growth and innovation for startups

Jenna Communications is excited to announce new client, JumpStart StartUp. One thousand businesses will be ignited this October at an event that kicks off in Philadelphia, and scales to 10 other cities nationwide impacting just as many businesses in those markets too. The mission is called Jumpstart StartUp and aims to drive an economic and innovation movement for entrepreneurs who don’t know where to turn for help with starting or growing a business. The idea started by CEO Jen Groover, and backed by the City of Philadelphia is a part of a new renaissance to help people simplify the process of starting a new company, or upgrading their existing services.

Serial entrepreneur, author, international speaker, and CEO Jen Groover is a top business and lifestyle contributor, and content creator for major networks like ABC, CBS, CNBC, NBC, MSNBC, Fox News, Fox Business New, and the CW.

“The skills and tools needed to launch a successful business should be accessible to everyone,” said Mayor Jim Kenney. “The City of Philadelphia is proud to be the launch city for the Jumpstart StartUp program, which is helping to get important assets into the hands of future entrepreneurs here and across the country.”

Some of the chosen sponsors include TD Bank, Comcast Business Class, Benjamins Desk, MSC Retail and more.  "The companies that support this program should be applauded for understanding the long-term powerful impact it can have on a brand when you invest in small businesses in your community and nationwide. As the small business owner grows, they never forget who helped them along the way, and become a loyal customer.  This isn't just an event, it's a movement," said Groover.

The pop-up shop is located at the former location of Puma at 1505 Walnut Street, and will be open on October 25-29 from Tues: 8am-6pm. Wed-Thu: 10am-8pm. Fri: 8am-6pm. Sat: 10am-6pm

If you or someone you know is a start-up, or interested in starting a business, please go to JumpStartStartUp.com. The first 1000 people/businesses through the door will benefit. The event is free, and open to the public.

Jenna Communications is proud to bring to your attention to The USS Murtha that will be commissioned here on Saturday, October 8 at Penns Landing in Philadelphia, the birthplace of the U.S. Navy & Marines.  It will be named in honor of Congressman John Patrick “Jack” Murtha of Pennsylvania.

A retired United States Marine Corps Reserve officer, Murtha was a member of the Pennsylvania House from 1969 to 1974. That year he narrowly won a special election to Congress becoming the first Vietnam War veteran elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. Murtha served as chairman or ranking minority member of the House Appropriations, Defense Subcommittee from 1989 until his death in 2010, two days after becoming the longest-serving congressman in Pennsylvania history.  Murtha grew up in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He attended Washington and Jefferson College until 1952 when he left to join the Marine Corps.

The USS Murtha has been featured on FOX29 and CBS radio recently when Captain Kevin Parker visited local manufacturing supplier for the U.S. Navy, Derbyshire Machine & Tool to see where the parts for his ship are made.  CEO, Paul Trenholm (shown bottom right next to CBS' Brad Segall, and Jim Donahue,  VP of Business Dev’t & Marketing for Patriot Direct) provided a press tour for Captain Parker around his plant where Fox29 also joined in to take part in this exciting piece of history happening in our own backyard.

Hunt Auctions takes over Chicago

Hunt Auctions held a live auction event featuring the personal and private collection of Chicago White Sox icon Minnie Minoso on September 17, 2016. The auction featured a number of historic items from Minoso’s storied career, which began in the Cuban and Negro Leagues in the 1940's, and continued with the Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox.

Minoso was a seven-time American League All-Star and remains to date one of the most revered figures in White Sox franchise history, having his No. 9 retired in 1983. A portion of the proceeds from the Minoso Collection, and other items within the auction, benefited Chicago White Sox Charities.  Read about coverage in USA Today, and find out what items sold at the highest bid in Crain's Chicago Business News.
