Proposed wind turbine at Cardwell Farm, Long Cross.

First, just a reminder that the Parish Council is holding a special meeting at Milton Abbot Village Hall this Wednesday, 10th June, at 7.30pm, to hear the views of local people and determine what representations it wishes to make to the Borough Council about the proposed 57.64m high wind turbine at Cardwell Farm, Long Cross.
The Parish Council will be considering a report on this proposal together with some supplementary information and you can read this in full on the Chillaton website or by clicking here

Do come to the meeting, if you want to make your views known to the Parish Council.

If you want to submit any representations to West Devon Borough Council about the proposed turbine, you can do so on their  planning portal.

The closing date for representations to be received by the Borough Council has now been extended to 26th June.
Come and meet the MACKPlan team at the Tractor Run and Fete, at Marystowe Church this Sunday!

Who?
Us, that's who; the team that is producing the neighbourhood development plan for our local area, called MACKPlan.

We'll have a tent and maybe some chairs, so why not call in and let us have your views on what's good and not so good about living in the parish.  We especially want to know what you think about where new development should go and where it shouldn't.

The Tractor Run and Fete is this Sunday, 14th June, at Marystowe Church. It starts at 10.30am and ends at 4pm, with tractors departing at 11am and returning at about 1.30pm.

Can there be more than tractors and a tent?

Yes! There's:
  • Face painting [from 12pm]
  • Children's fancy dress parade 2.30pm
  • Vintage and classic cars
  • Photographic exhibition
  • Bouncy castle
  • Cake, book and plant stalls
  • Chillaton village archive
  • Flower exhibition
  • Refreshments all day

Helpful hint: refuse all offers by MACKPlan team members to look after any homemade cakes you may have bought before visiting us.

As you may know, the Chillaton Public Hall Trust looks after the funds raised when the village hall was sold many years ago.  From time to time, the Trust organises social events as a means of supporting the village, in the absence of a village hall.

The Trust has an idea for a village day out, on which they would like your views, together with any suggestions you may have for future events.
