TWC's Argentine Carnaval Gala
Heavy snow covering the DC area and closing all schools (and even the Federal Government!) did not prevent over 250 guests from enjoying themselves in grand Carnaval-Mardi Gras style at the Organization of American States on February 17th. Under the honorary patronage of the Ambassador of Argentina Cecila Nahón
, it was a festive evening of masquerade masks, colorful beads, and all things Argentine including the music, food, wine, and even a “bola” dancer! View photos of the party here
The evening also celebrated DC's women innovators in music with a special tribute to Jenny Bilfield, President of Washington Performing Arts, and Deborah Rutter, President of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. There was also a surprise recognition of TWC’s own Executive Director Dianne Peterson for her many years of leadership.
A special thanks to the Gala Chairs, Pamela and Chris Denby, and for all those that supported the evening.
