Веселих свят
і щасливого нового року!
The Kule Folklore Centre warming wishes everyone
a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Voices of Ukrainian Canadians recorded in the 1960s
become alive again to celebrate Christmas in 2018!

Listen to this carol: beautiful and touching...
Our graduate student Olga Zaitseva-Herz used materials from the Ukrainian Folklore Archives at the Kule Folklore Centre (Robert Klymasz Fieldwork collection) for the performance of her band ZAITSA www.facebook.com/zaitsaband

Stories from the Folklore Archives

Like Mother, Like Daughter

This is an interactive narrative
about two women,
Olha Pavliuk and her daughter Ludmila Onufrijchuk and their shared passion for the latest fashions.
Olha and Ludmilla loved to design and create their own wardrobes, and proudly wore their cultural identity on their sleeves
(in some cases quite literally).

З різдвом Христовим
Та новим роком
Щирі побажання кріпкого здоров'я.
Багато щастя.
Чистої води в криниці.
Хліба-солі на столі,
І погоди на душі

With the birth of Christ
and the New Year
Sincere wishes
for strong health
much fortune
clean water in the well
in the fields robust wheat
bread-salt on the table
and harmony in the soul.
