But first, let's take a look back at 13 especially memorable moments of 2013...
1. ArtWorkers: Creativity in America
Spiva Center for the Arts held one of the most interactive/hands-on exhibits Joplin has ever seen! ArtWorkers examined how Americans view themselves and the country they live in – through art. Through an exhibition, performances, and hands-on activities, Kansas City artist Hugh Merrill facilitated creating dialogue about America with the help of many voices. Community participation made this artistic experience a success!

3. The Linden String Quartet
Joplin's local chamber music organization, Pro Musica, continued bringing world-class classical music to Joplin and the surrounding 4-state area. The Linden Quartet is a young and talented group that just so happened to be one of our favorites this season! They put on a fabulous show for the general public and also traveled around the area performing for schools, nursing homes, and businesses.

Phoenix Fired Art's 2nd Annual "Empty Bowls" fundraiser was a great success, raising $19,480! So many people attended that they ran out of bowls! All proceeds were split between Watered Gardens, The Salvation Army, and Crosslines.
