“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” There is profound truth and hope within this statement from our Constitution. God, our Creator, has given each person life (and for Christians, not just now, but the promise of eternal life, too). God has granted each person liberty from our own captivity, freedom in the country in which we live, and freedom in Christ Jesus. And each of us has the right to pursue happiness in the limited amount of time we have on this earth. I feel extremely blessed and proud to live in a country that allows each person who resides in it the opportunity to experience true life, liberty, and happiness, and I am grateful to all of those who have served our country by protecting these unalienable Rights.
 
For the past 41 years, Roswell UMC has celebrated our country and the men and women who have faithfully served our country in the Armed Forces in our Patriotic Celebration Concerts. We are thrilled to be back in person for this concert and are looking forward to honoring our country once again while giving thanks to God for this incredible nation we call home. Each year, in addition to the familiar and celebrated songs of patriotism (God Bless America, Battle Hymn of the Republic, America the Beautiful, Armed Forces Salute, etc.), we like to offer a special segment in the concert that highlights something that is uniquely American. This year, we honor John Williams, the prominent American film composer. Williams celebrated his 90th birthday earlier this year, and we will celebrate his musical career by including some of his compositions on the program. It is sure to be a highlight of this year’s concert!
 
The concerts are today, June 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 26 at 3 p.m. in the Sanctuary. If you do not have tickets, ushers will seat you in any available seats.
 We hope that you will join us as we celebrate our country and worship our God who allows us to experience “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Fourth of July Weekend
 
On Sunday, July 3, there will be one service in the Sanctuary at 11:15 a.m. only and the regularly scheduled Chapel Roswell in the Chapel. First Sunday Chapel Communion services will resume Sunday, August 7 in the Chapel at 8:30 a.m. Please note that church offices will be closed on Monday, July 4.
Patriotic Celebration Concerts
 
The Annual Roswell Patriotic Celebration Concerts are tonight, June 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 26 at 3 p.m. If you do not have tickets, ushers will seat you in any available seats. For more information, visit our website.

Second Fridays on The Commons
 
Bring your own lawn chair or blanket and gather on The Commons from 5:30-8 p.m. on Friday, July 8 for live music, friends, and fun. This month, Second Fridays will be hosting a vintage car show, featuring cars from the 1940s through the 70s. Food will be available for purchase. For more information, contact Jeff Ross.

Emergency Response Team
 
Volunteers with medical training as RN, BSM, PA, EMT, or MD are needed for the Sunday Emergency Response Team. Flexible assignments for Sunday morning worship services are available and based on weekly availability. For more information, email JoAn Hobbs or call 770.261.1731.
Summer Grocery Program
 
MUST Summer Lunch/My Neighbor’s Pantry is back on Mondays with a new location—The Porch at 846 Mimosa! Donations can be dropped off on Sundays 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. or Mondays 12-4 p.m. Needed supplies include cereal, blocks of cheese, shredded cheese, 1 lb. yellow rice, 1 lb. black beans, 1 lb. dry spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, laundry detergent, feminine hygiene products (pads especially), and fresh produce. Mighty Mentes/Mentors
 
Roswell UMC is supporting Vickery Mill Elementary and Centennial High School by mentoring at-risk students through Mighty Mentes (Vickery Mill Elementary School) and Mighty Mentors (Centennial High School). Only a small weekly or biweekly commitment is required to make a big difference. For more information or to volunteer, contact Gilma Cantu.
RUMCK 2022-23

Explore Story Hour
 
Attention preschoolers and parents! Join us on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. this summer for a story, craft, and a snack. We will meet beginning on Tuesday, June 21 in room 169, Sanctuary building. Please note, on June 28 and July 19, we will meet in the Dining Room, Chapel building, and we will not be meeting on Tuesday, July 5. Serving Through Worship Arts Camp
 
Register your rising 1st - 5th grader for a week of learning and fun at Serving through Worship Arts Camp on July 11-15, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Registration is free, and snacks will be provided. Kids will enjoy working on art projects and rehearsing for a short musical or taking a ‘behind the scenes’ production class.
