April 22, 2022

I know, I know… it’s Easter season, not Thanksgiving; however, I am walking through this first week of Easter with a grateful heart. First, I am grateful that we serve a Savior who loves us so much that he would go to extreme measures to prove his love and faithfulness toward us. Every year, during Holy Week and Easter, my awareness of Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf heightens, and in turn, I am thankful and humbled to worship our Risen Savior.

I am also grateful for the MANY people who helped make our Holy Week and Easter services so special: the choir, instrumentalists, praise teams, audio and video servants, the hospitality and kitchen team, greeters and ushers, the altar guild, the facilities staff, children’s and youth ministry volunteers, the RUMC staff, the clergy team, etc. The list goes on and on. It is amazing how many people it takes to produce our Holy Week and Easter experiences and services – those in front and those behind the scenes. I am thankful for each person who had a role to play in helping us remember, celebrate, and worship.

Last, I am thankful that we can celebrate Easter every Sunday, not just one day a year! Every Sunday is a little Easter, and I look forward to worshiping together again this Sunday – another chance for us to celebrate and worship the Risen Christ.

Grace and Peace,
