Illinois Awarded $850,000 to Support Illinois Small Business Exports

In November, 2016 the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity’s Office of Trade and Investment won $850,000 in federal funds to support export growth among Illinois small businesses. The funding was awarded through the Small Business Administration’s competitive State Trade Expansion Program (STEP).

The Illinois European office engaged with several partners and attended events in several European countries in its continued promotion of Illinois as a great location for foreign business. In September a post Brexit five city road trip to the United Kingdom delivered well attended seminars in Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Glasgow.
