Hello, Blind Eye Books Readers. Was your summer fun? Here at Blind Eye Books we’ve been hard at work on our upcoming projects.
First up, we have our Fall 2018 release – Grilled Cheese and Goblins: Adventures of a Supernatural Food Inspector by Nicole Kimberling.
Vampire Hunter. Leprechaun Fighter. Food Inspector.
Keith Curry has his work cut out for him.
NATO’s Irregulars Affairs Division is a secret organization operating in thousands of cities around the globe. Its agents police relations between the earthly realm and those beyond this world, protecting citizens from both mundane and otherworldly dangers.
Former chef turned NIAD food inspector, Special Agent Keith Curry found out about magic the hard way and is now determined to keep dinner safe for everybody. Includes the novellas: Cherries Worth Getting, Magically Delicious, and the never-before-published Bring Out Your Best, plus bonus shorts and more!
“In Cherries Worth Getting, Kimberling adeptly and humorously melds Portland, Ore.’s pretentiously earnest art and food cultures with a search for human traffickers.” Publishers Weekly
Grilled Cheese and Goblins releases Tuesday, October 9.
The Counterfeit Viscount by Ginn Hale
Fans of Ginn Hale’s imaginary city of Crowncross (setting of her first book, Wicked Gentlemen) can find a new novella: The Counterfeit Viscount, about an unlikely new team of sleuths in Devil Take Me, out October 16 from Dreamspinner Press.
You can read the first chapter on Ginn's blog.
2019 will see us releasing a new series of short stories by Jess Faraday featuring Constable Simon Pearce from Blades of Justice as well as the next installment of Ginn Hale’s Cadeleonian Series. Titles for both TBA.
And while I have you here, I’d like to introduce you to some other friends of Blind Eye Books—a brand-new publisher called Queen of Swords Press, an independent small press specializing in swashbuckling tales of derring-do, bold new adventures in time and space, mysterious stories of the occult and arcane, and fantastical tales of people and lands far and near. Check out their newest release, Murder on the Titania and Other Steam-Powered Adventures
by Alex Acks.
Captain Marta Ramos, the most notorious pirate in the Duchy of Denver, has her hands full, what between fascinating murder mysteries, the delectable and devious Delilah Nimowitz, Colonel Geoffrey Douglas (the Duke of Denver’s new head of security) and her usual activities: piracy, banditry and burglary. Not to mention the horrors of high society tea parties. In contrast, Simms, her second in command, longs only for a quiet life, filled with tasty sausages and fewer explosions. Or does he? Join Captain Ramos, Simms and their crew as they negotiate the perils of air, land and drawing room in a series of fast-paced adventures in a North America that never was.
And that about wraps it up for the news in brief. You all have a good Halloween.
