Seeking Volunteers For:
Holiday Fostering
When we are closed for the holiday season, we like to get as many animals as possible into temporary foster homes. It helps to have less animals in the shelter in order to lighten the load for the volunteers who do still come in to care for them. If you are interested in being holiday foster, please contact Deb at dab1183@comcast.net for cat fostering, or for dog fostering contact Nancy at napkaye@gmail.com and Virginia at vishler@gmail.com. The last day we are open to the public is December 20, and we will re-open on January 6.

Sewing Bed Covers
We are still seeking volunteers who can sew covers for our dog beds. We have pre-cut pieces on top of the chest freezer in the basement, along with instructions on how to sew them. Please feel free to take some home to sew, or contact megan@centrecountypaws.org for more information.

Lost and Found Email Monitoring
We are looking for someone to regularly check our Lost and Found email account and to relay information to the appropriate channels when we do receive those emails. This is a great responsibility for someone who would like to volunteer from home since it can be accomplished entirely online. Having access to Facebook is helpful. If you are interested, please contact megan@centrecountypaws.org for more information.

Changes to Volunteer Rewards
We have several volunteers who are close to logging MORE hours than we currently have rewards for (which is a GREAT problem to have) so we decided to update our rewards system. The new rewards are:
12 hours - Name tag
75 hours - Volunteer button
200 hours - Paw print button
500 hours - Volunteer t-shirt
1000 hours - Gift card
1500 hours - Newsletter and blog feature
2000 hours - Volunteer hoodie
2500 hours - Thank you note
3000 hours - Another gift card
4000 hours - Fleece jacket or blanket
5000 hours - Letter from the Board
Please remember to log your volunteer hours. Not only do they help us keep track of all the help PAWS receives from our wonderful volunteers, but they can also earn you any of these awesome rewards as a token of our appreciation!

"Benton and I are doing AWESOME! He has become my best friend :) think he loves all of the attention that he gets, because it is just him and I in my apartment! His favorite place is my bed! He has attended several of my study sessions with fellow coworkers/graduate students and seems to get along with any one who will rub his belly! He is a great study buddy!"

Cricket (on the right) is a senior cat who got a second chance in June when someone looked past his age and adopted him. His mom recently checked in to say that he has adjusted well and feels right at home!

Andy's family checked in to say: "We just adore him! He is such a sweet heart, so smart, and so easy... Thank you so much for hooking him up with us! We are SO grateful!! P.S. I can't believe he was OK with me taking him kayaking for a little bit haha!"

Sophie is a nine year old cat who spent 470 days at PAWS. We featured her adoption in a previous month's newsletter because her adopters were some of one of the most excited couples that has ever adopted from PAWS, and it was so great to see them so excited about adopting a senior cat. The young couple who adopted our sweet senior Sophie checked in recently to tell us how well she is doing in their home, saying
"Sophie is amazing and somehow we manage to love her more each day!!! She adjusted so well! She wakes up with us every morning and comes to the door when we get off of work!! Sorry for all the pictures but she’s very photogenic!"
